Are you prepared to split the top clamps? I'm interested in the chrome one with the logo. I already have the alloy one at the top.

I have been trying to identify this chrome plate, so far can only come up with Plate between Trans and timing as per pic of softail which appear to have this chrome cover. Can you identify and tell what it is and whats it called.

It looks to be a useless piece of chrome bling designed to imitate the look of the Carlini torque arm, which in the mid to late 1990s  was a useful piece of kit to brace the engine and gearbox on modified-for-horsepower Dynas.

The Dyna was then new, and in Evo form showed quite a bit of flex at the gearbox when thrashed. The Carlini bit fixed that.

There was no need for a torque arm on an Evo Softail, but maybe some opportunistic aftermaket bling merchants thought that it would be a good look to offer a copy that did nothing, stress-protection wise, but was shiny.

    That's my guess.

Some people cover spark plugs and axle bolts and swingarms with useless bloody chrome crap.
