Power Vision, so I can get them to do it for me. That said, WinPV is so easy to use.
Not sure. I'm not getting stressed about it for a week or so. They've got a great rep and a small shop.
I'll be doing everything but the dyno tuning, don't have the gear for that. Can do target tuning, but I'm planning on getting the most out of it.
good luck and well done on riding it!
I'll get mine done at l a cycles in Sydney . they have all in house machining can rebuild crank & have it dynamic balanced. they have been Harley only a long time raced too.
I'll be taking my bike up to Sydney ( riding it up ) to race soon to get a base speed as is, then back to the track after the rebuild.
the old heads won't flow that good, but be interesting to see what times l a cycles can give me. and be able to ride to the track and ride home.
I have a four hour ride to the track now, but will be there for bike night soon. thats the best time to go as get heaps more pass's ( no cars blowing up oiling track ) bikes don't seem to blow up and everything runs smooth.
the way the old carb sporty is now does not have much hp as bone stock apart from slip on's. but want to see what speed's it gets too in speed traps then after rebuild will go back see what speeds that tell's me how much hp, the 60 ft time tell's you if you can ride it to full potential . I love it!
For the kit I'm doing Aaron advised that the SE CNC portsted heads would be perfect. Still need to head over to Canberra Harley to order them.
how much for heads? I've never priced any, and are they compleat or bare heads? what size valves?
Lucifer thats a good price! I might see if can get a set, as my pistons are flat tops to suit.
crop-duster thats a good price for the supertrapps! how many disc's did they come with? I'm just going to keep the stock headers and se slip on's and see what speed and times at track first. if pipes holding it back, will look at pipes.
yep, which is why i bought mine locally, for $175 it's not worth the agro if they're damaged or wrong, the saving is bugger all. And i got mine the same day.
That's a good price though, when i shopped on line looking i couldn't find them for under a grand and that was + shipping which meant GST as well.
Mine came with 24 discs and a closed end cap, i bought the open one but took that out as well, i just run 20 discs and the alloy trim ring that hold them in.
I've bought four supertrapp exhausts from the USA and only ever had a problem with one of them (scratched heat shield) that supertrapp addressed by sending me replacement heat shield which arrived one week later.
Most aussie retailers don't stock them and have to order them in, add their margins etc. For those that do stock them and there won't be many, they're not gonna carry spare parts in the rare event of a problem. And then you'll pay shipping from there too unless you live near that retailer.
I'm all for supporting aussie businesses where possible but not when it costs me $175 (almost 20%) plus cost of oz shipping. That saving buys a fair chunk of custom dyno tuning work
They're a great pipe and worth the extra coin.
mine is solid mount so thanks for mentioning rear master, I just want bolt on. so will just run the pipes I have first. there is an Aussie made 2 into 1 that makes good power but don't still make them, but think could get some copied, they have good ground clearance too and I think could use super trap disc's with them if too loud. they were the pipe all the roaring sporty's used ( those bike's flew!! the pipes made good hp & torque an Aussie tuner made them very smart man too. we had one of the ex racers take his roaring sporty with those pipes to the track to drag race he ran 11's easy on it and was only supposed to be an 883. that had Buell thunderstorm heads and a set of cams.
Very interested in the exhaust, sent you a PM.
good pipe as tuneable so can make them work.
