USA is far more biker friendly than we are. Put my stick in the sand and say that will never happen here!

I actually think it’d be a good idea for our party strip. Hindley Street. People would gravitate to the area for the colourful and loud street show and continuous bike parade. The bike riders could dissuade the Regular trouble makers from causing issues. Have to make sure rival clubs didn’t start shooting each other up though.

Would like to see a motorcycle connection as such, would help people be aware of riders and passengers on bikes.
We did ride down Hindley, Rundle street in the 70"s, with no police presence then. Now would be different, as we older and police are bolder.

As an old Coot I’d like to think it could happen.
In the 70’s Friday/Saturday night there’d be a good line up in Rundle Street, (pre mall) Sigalas Milk bar and that tiny beer bar can’t recall the name.
All pre Sam Bass, St Kilda etc but you never know, it’s probably too hard for Council, all want to be so politically correct it kills.

I know it's not a whole street but every time I've ridden in Tassie I've made it a point to go to joe's garage for bike night (they also have hot rod nights and stuff but meh).
The place is a motorbike, car and repair themed bar with genuine bits and pieces hung up and on display everywhere and it gets so busy that they serve into the street and people hang out up and down the footpath.

There is motorbike only parking out the front between the cones (enough for a lot of bikes) but overflow can park across the street.

I was trying to find a photo of when I went but buggered if I can so here's a generic one from their page (this is very quiet, taken early for good photo light I reckon).

Well worth a visit if you've never been.

Ricks garage on the Sunshine Coast is a decent turn out on the weekends but sadly no road closure

been to sturgis twice 2013  2017 and anyone whos been knows this works in every town in the black hills, without any drama whatsoever.
in summer in europe ive seen the cops close roads so the people in bars can move their tables and chairs into the street.  theres an Australian down under pub in Bristol that this happens at every friday and saturday night and thats for drinking.
BUT...American  and European cops are much more human than our scum suckers. i even speak to cops on perpose  just being social in europe and the usa.... but i would never do that here.
that bunch of buttholes some call police would just make vaginas of themselves.

Oh please god. Not another thread conveniently turned into a cop bashing rant. That’s 4 on the trot I think.

Well, I remember (yup still) riding around Northern Asia on a motorcycle in the 70"s, and with a few Baht every cop was your friend.. So could close off street, or whatever you wanted.
Maybe not so these days, things have changed, and we don"t wear flairs either!
    But here Now.

Yes, let"s stick to the program, "could this happen here?".

I would love to see an entrepreneur organise such an event somewhere in Australia, as would be a dollar spinner for town, population, and region.
    Is anyone out there?
Hey Ratbob we didna have milkbars in Adelaide, they were Delicatessens, you been hanging with Victorians.

I do understand ou. I don’t dispute you and others may have had issues in the past. Start your own I hate cops thread if you like.  This one was simply about making a biker friendly zone in a town or street on one or 2 nights a week. Quite frankly I’d “rather” be reading about people’s thoughts and good experiences than the other.
Like I said every other thread seems to be hijacked lately with an anti police theme.
