    It's insurance time again !

I have an agreed value (that keeps going down) of $12,700 on my 2000 FXDX with QBE.
Thats probably a fair value stock, but I have a heap of mods including wheels/brakes, and a custom built 120" motor.
I've never added it up, but I'll say I'd easily have $10k+ in the driveline, without my labour.

What have others found when trying to insure with big motor builds ?

Shannons will insure you for extra $$$ with considerations for modifications. You obviously pay for it in a higher premium, and you will need to have them inspect it and agree to a value.

Have been with Shannons for a couple of years now. Got insurance for a higher 'agreed value' (with slightly increased premium) after questionnaire over the phone regarding engine, suspension, wheel/brake mods etc. There was no inspection.

My bike (1 year old) is insured for $49K and for that I pay $57/month. Pretty good I reckon. It’s through Gas Alley (HD Insurance) and Swann. To eliminate the downgraded value and upgraded cost each year, the insurance lady at the Gas just rips up the current policy and starts a new one.
I’m told this will work for the first few years at least so we’ll see how it goes. Maybe give Mel a call - you can get a quote over the phone.
