Doesn't matter what I ride 100 - 120 kays is the limit my arse can go, so it's stop for coffee, then it's stop for fuel, stop for lunch, stop at scenic lookout, stop for fuel, and so on,
I'm a 500 kay max per day man, leave well after the wildlife settles down, maybe 9ish then pull in 4-5 o'clock before the wildlife gets moving again, and it get's dark, I hate riding in the dark,
Actually 500kays is a huge day for me, a lot of the time it's only 350,
When you have other more comfortable options you tend not to take the Harley on long trips,  Shovels tend to bite you if you ask too much of them,

The most comfortable Harley you have ridden is the one you can afford to own, not everyone has the money or room for a bike for every occasion. I love the blackline but if I was offered a big tourer for a weeks ride I would jump straight on it for the  comfort, carrying capacity and features but if I added a screen and panniers to my bike I would be just as happy. I like the look of the new sport glide, stripped down it would be a great daily ride able to split lanes at lights and cut through traffic and loaded up would work well at touring but the budget won't allow right now. They aren't for me but sporty riders are tough buggers, pushing them to do things they were not designed for and traveling on long highway rides with bigger bikes possible in part because thats all they can afford or they love them and can't see riding anything else but same as me, offer them a tourer for a long ride and any sane person would take it. Most here are passionate about their bikes and you can't win a debate with someone who is passionate about their poit of view.

The reason I chose my 2nd Street Glide is for a few reasons.
I really like having the storage that the saddlebags give me. I have had a shoulder bag before on a few bikes but much prefer the feeling without one.
I also have a stuffed hand and the electric cruise control has made my rides much more comfortable.  I have tried a few other options on other bikes but none of them work like the factory version.
I also really enjoy riding while listening to music. Again I have used the helmet speakers before but much prefer having the sound coming from the bike. It allows for other sounds/noises to be heard, plus the controls are easily accessible on the handlebars.
I only run a 6" screen so I can still feel the wind on my face, I'm currently trialing a 4 5" one for more air and hopefully no buffeting.
The biggest downside was getting the suspension compliant and working as good as I could afford.
Did I mention the seat, it's still in the process of getting it comfortable without looking like a sofa.
So no bike is perfect and they are always evolving in one way or another.
A bit of a long winded reply but gives you some other reasons why the tourers have become so popular.

I'm a short arse at 5'8 and don't like looking thru the screen, that's why I run a short screen.

My Fat Bob is the most comfortable bike I’ve owned, even more so then my old ZZR-1100 back in the day.
Next big trip, though, I would gladly put a detachable screen on the bike. Doing big days = not giving a stuff what other ppl think.

    My current ride.
2008 FLHT with a mustang solo seat. My original factory seat, which is the same seat as the same year Ultra isn't as good as this mustang.
I sit a bit lower and a bit further back. Good for 800km days.

Ohlins cartridge fork kit and piggy back shocks ordered for my street bob. Heard nothing but good things but will report back once I have them (won’t be here until mid June according to the importer).

Have ordered the correct springs for the forks mate.
I think the shocks only have 3 spring rates, light, standard and heavy. I have got them coming with the “standard” springs.
I’m sure I will love them.
Getting some DLC coated fork tubes so hope they help a bit to, they work well on dirt bikes so have to think they will on the street to.

Just had a look through your pictures mate, looks like I will have the exact same set up as you, blackline piggy back shocks on the rear and cartridge forks with dlc tubes up front haha
I just ordered the tubes through top line tubes in the USA. Will be building another complete set of forks.

    Bit off topic, sorry guys
