    Hi Gents,
I've been in hunt for a discrete phone mount as I hated the looks but also I could not live without as I have no sense of direction.
currently I use ram mount with a ball joint. and I completely remove the mount when not in use.

However I have found something even more neat. and its made by "show off"

Looks like I can finally eliminate the ugly phone mount for good.

What do you think about it? does anyone want to group buy this with me?
they go for USD $35 for 1 set and $25 USD for 4 sets.

Or alternatively, does anyone know Australia retailer of this (or similar) product?

    Thanks guys.

Have you checked out Motorcycle Magnetic Cell Phone Case Holders?  I bought one years ago (not from the link below and not sure where i got it) and have found it to be quite good. You do have to take it out of the case to change something (trying to use it through the clear plastic top doesn't work but that is the only downside I have had.

Stick with the RAM mount I reckon.  Nothing beats having your phone/nav device on the handle bars.  It's the best, most practical place to have it.  I use a RAM mount and they're great.  I have a USB cable right next to it so I can charge the phone when the bike is on.  I can easily press it without moving my hand very far.  It's right inline with where you're looking so you can easily see it without taking your eyes off the road.  The problem with a tank mounted holder is you have to look down to use it.  You're much more likely to come to grief doing that.

Ah. The age old problem of where to put your phone on the bike.
I've agonised over it for years.
My recommendation is not to use the phone on the bike at all for safety sake. Don't take your hands off the handle bars or look down to use the phone. You are more at risk than in a car.
But, If you have to, put it in your pocket or powered glove box and access it via the infotainment system (ultraglides etc)
If no infotainment system, use bluetooth headset and itunes or music play app on phone before you get underway to stream to headset. Use autoanswer to receive calls only
If you need to make a call, stop and dial. Some headsets will allow siri like connectivity ie voice commands if independently powered via USB. Some later phones don't require this
    so give it a go
Most new phones are waterproof so those cheap cases not required Get a RAM X mount and use your existing mount. Phone comes off very easy. Some cheaper chinese knockoffs have USB power built in. If phone not waterproof, just put it in your pocket rather than risk getting it wet when raining. I wonder if those magnets on the phone "could" wipe your credit cards being in the same area ie pocket.
Even with the X mount on the deuce and glovebox on the ultra, I usually keep the phone in my pocket and just instantly connect via bluetooth to infotainment or headset. It's a no brainer.

I only use my phone for navigation when needed.   Otherwise the RAM mount is empty, it's there in case I need it nothing more.  I don't want phone calls on the bike. I ride to get away from phones.  I've set up one of those tracking apps on my phone, so the family can track where I am.  All you need is coverage and the phone switched on for it to work.

I have the HD magnetic phone mount on my tank that works OK, however restricts the view. l recently purchased a 360 degree magnetic rotation phone holder that was meant for car mount from JB Hifi for $28 It consists of a chrome ball and a magnetic detachable mount. I secured the chrome ball to the top of my fork, attached the stick on metalic strip to my phone case and then mounted the phone case to the magnetic attachment and then to the chrome ball. I now have a detachable phone and magnetic attachment that when not in use is only evident by the chrome ball that works with bike aesthetics. So far l have exceeded 140Km and it stays attached ( ensure you buy a quality item ). Bonus when using GPS mode on my phone l can see the severity of the bend ahead in my line of site, but not the cars overtaking pushbikes on the wrong side of the road...

For those who did not like the blue on the quad lock motorcycle mounts you can now choose black or other colours. I also used the bicycle mount on my 1 3/4” bars and zip tied the mount on.... no problems at all.... 10 out of 10.

I can attest to the quality of the Quad Lock mounts. I ran them on my downhill mountain bikes and never had a phone fall off. That was even after some big wrecks. That was the old style bike mount that uses a couple of O Rings to secure it to the handle bar.
