    2,900 km’s in 3 days, lots of sticky mud through the gorges around the Northern Flinders after the rains up north. The Pig handled herself quite well.

    had a mate that did the Simpson Desert on the mighty Triumph Xca along with 5 Kato 1190R's

    Boy did that test the Triumph .............up 1100 sandhills and it NEVER even looked like getting hot / boiling ..

    I saw him doing 60Kph on the speedo but the bike was at walking pace going up the hill ( think about that )

    i was sure it would have boiled ( nope never did)

    The African Twin is GREAT value ...........Darryl Beattie followed us ( we followed him really i suppose) across the deseert as we headed over for Finke 2016

    He kicked ass on the African Twin ( only one in the country at the time i think too)

    Personally, I love the Ranges(my old man took me there every Sept when Teenager- he Jackeroo before ww2 at Beltana Station, jezus they grow up quick in em days) anyway love motorcycles.
     Lofty, you nailed it. Trading in Mr.T or selling?
    Sniffer, I can take fuel cans, and heard the new Triumphs are bees knees as well. .

    As youg fella, admired the Nortons, at Carcycle in Adelaide. 
    The Yellow Fast Back, Combat and other's which prompted me to work at a dealer. They were/ are a beautiful looking M/C.

    850, Brembo brakes F&R, 5/8 final drive,Stainless Isolastics,Aussie made head, electronic instruments, dimpleless alloy rims etc etc

    Regret selling this one more than most, 1954 Ariel Sq4 Mk11B, 4 piper, large oil tank etc to aid rear cylinder cooling
    Used by lots of coppers in Australia back in the day

    thanks taz, a collection of very nice brits you have....my first bike wish was a rocket 3,they stopped prodution just before i was old enough....cant afford one now.there was a bloke in colac mid 70's who had a nice trident with an unknown 3-1,your spot on ...sound like nothing else [ except a ss900 with contis],harleys had a sound of the own but not many around then.
