CVO 110, snorts smoke out air filter

Starter turns over well, then a great snort like compressed steam and smoke shoots out the air intake. Try to start again, same thing... try again and away she goes and runs fine. Doesn’t always happen.
    Any ideas what’s going on?

Im no expert mate but I imagine it can, just sounds like a timing issue, Im sure someone more versed in mechanics will chime in soon enough.  Good luck.

My CVO 110 Springer does this occasionally

I have always assumed it was a function of a "lag' in the ACR release system

Even my old Evos used to spit back thru' the carb fairly regularly

As a point of note , not all Calibrations in the various cal file lists have the ACR's toggled to "on". Maybe that ?

Mine will also do this from time to time. Sometimes at the end of the ride it will spit back out the A/C when you switch it off. 2012 street glide stage 1

    Thanks for the feedback.
A few months ago I reflashed the tune, just to lower the idle a bit and the ACR was turned on but the units could be tired.
The Fatbob is 9 years old now so I'll check the injectors for leaks and the ACRs, replace if needed, not an expensive exercise.
    Thanks for the tips, Cheers.

Most likely the ACR not engaging. Need the latest "621" calibration to have the ACR actually work. Was a stateside 110 recall that HD Aus swept under the carpet very quietly.

Brash . Which age range does this recall you mention apply to ?

Could you post a link to this info' ?

Looks to me that the 621 calibrations in the Supertuner Pro are for way younger bikes than the OP mentioned

14-17 mate, Ratbob mentioned his bike is 9 years old so probably rules him out. Just check the ACR is engaging however.

Toggling it PV, SERT doesn't do a thing by the way, it's in the 1's & 0's of the base calibration.

Thanks Brash, interesting reading, certainly my 09 CVO doesn’t make the click sound they mention. I’m wondering what the differences are between the 2009 and 2014, SE 110 engines.
