Map of Tassie, is always good to have in hand. Beautiful country and people are so cool. One time working over there for a spell, in the North West,  the early 90"s you could buy a house for like under 10K. Serious, how things change.Would have moved there long time ago, but weather shied me.Roads are excellent, for riding, as is scenery. One of the best states to ride in.

I did it once, took three weeks and should have stayed for six!
I did it once in 86.
Still there, with new heads sprouting off my shoulders.

I'm new here and from Hobart. If you are coming down I can fix you up with local knowledge on rides (and watering holes) in the south of the island, East Coast, Midlands etc. Not much good North/North West. Would be happy to blast off on a few day rides etc. As most have stated Dec-April is the best time...

Grot, what are your thoughts on nightly acc. stops and daily travel plan etc.
a detailed itinerary might tempt a few more to jump onboard.

    No set itinerary
I normaly do the west coast first get into Hobart on Friday afternoon for the Salamanca markets on Saturday
Will start thinking about nightly accomodation around 130 pm ..all depends on where we are ..
10 days is more than enough to see what you want without having to rush
IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED THEN LET ME KNOW BY END OF OCTOBER THEN WE CAN ALL MEET AND PLAN IT TOGETHER

    Agree with H&H
coast road north of Bicheno through to St Helens is a terrific bit of road
after you check out Binalong Bay and the Gardens. have a look at Weldborough Pub and the Pub in the Paddock
then back through Scottsdale to Launceston

trucked 3 bikes from Perth/Melbourne, onto the ferry and did this exact trip over 14 days, only we went to Stanley, (a waste of time) as well...absolutely loved it...heaps of twistys every where, then rode back across the Nullabour. All up took a month
                                                                JUST DO IT !
