I'll see if Fred can shed any more light on it for me. If i have to i will go with 625's and upgrade the valve springs but hopefully he can find something that will work without removing the heads.

So what valve springs do you have? I thought you wanted lift under .600 (and .594 is bloody close to that). I read the beginning of your post again and you have Se heads but there are different versions with different chambers, different springs etc. And dunno if yours have been modded?

Thanks Chriso and Hilly. Still havent spoken with Fred yet, left a message but no reply.  He did tell me the other day that he's flat out for 2 weeks until the races are finished.

For what it's worth, when I had my Twin Cam I got to compare chain drive to gear drive directly , using same grin cam sets. was nothing in it not even half a horse or half a foot pound of torque. but I went gear drive for a different reason & that gear set still going ok lot of k's on. friend has it. ( the bike ) now

Mine is around 195-200, I wouldn't want it to be any higher especially up where you are and it's warmer all the time

Yeah I have the new cams on the way and im sure Fred will get it running nice. I also had him install the new Glide Pro engine mounts so also keen to see/feel if there is any difference.

Yeah it is sorry but you get the gist. Still to do a decent ride on the new mounts but they certainly have taken a lot of the shake out.

Just did a quick run out to Canungra and they have definitely stiffened up the bike, feels like she's on rails now. Its a bit vibey but I'll loosen up the mounts and let them find their sweet spot and then they will be spot on.

Yeah she's making nice power now and doesn't feel like its running out of steam too early like it was. Still not sure about having the cylinder pressure near 210 though, might have to run the 4 degree still. On cold start this morning she did a small backfire and blew smoke out of the air filter.

Sounds like more tuning required.  Could be cranking fuel table related.

I did 30 additional maps making adjustments to Cranking Fuel, Warmup Enrichment & IAC Warm-Up steps after I got the tune from Fred based on weather conditions for better all round starting - mine never coughed when cold, but didn't start ideally when hot at only a couple of temps in the tuning tables - exactly after you fill with fuel at the gas station (can be very hard to work through & time consuming if you are a perfectionist like me).  Heat gun & data logging with good records are the key in pin pointing - can be very time consuming, particularly if difficult to replicate/inconsistent.

Unfortunately Fred can't replicate the climatic extremes in the dyno cell.
