Massive over-reaction or what? Why hasn't anyone mentioned bringing back the death penalty? I don't follow cricket so all this continuous top news story coverage is all quite bewildering to me. Even Australia's prime minister was the angriest I have ever seen him - good to see him tackling the big issues hey.
I know it's very poor form but cheating goes on in every sport, what about all that acting & diving in soccer. Rule breaking obviously needs dealing with - but FFS.

Don't give a fuck about other countries or what other people get away with.   As far as I'm concerned if you represent Australia at an elite level then you only get one chance.  They can punish them how they see fit, but anyone involved should never be allowed to play/be involved at that level again.

It's never enough blood for the masses Hilly. Interesting how the media have done a big about face and are calling for calm and sympathy when before they were nailing up the crosses. Tugged at my heartstrings I must say listening to Steve apologise to everyone and his mum and dad. That got me.
What were they thinking? Not much I guess. I feel sorry for all involved.

Yep, a bit bewildering to me too. Sick to the guts just hearing about it all continuously on tv and radio.
Also, the fact that it was such an amateurish attempt at cheating makes the whole saga even more pathetic.
If you really wanted to do that and get away with it why not be a cunning  cheat and do the job with stealth and do it properly?.
Hell, you could get the abrasive grit off sandpaper mix it with a bit of clear setting glue and glue the compound on to the strike bowlers trousers where he rubs the ball to shine it. Thus scuffing the ball instead of shining it.
That way not even the tv cameras would notice anything.
    Not that I condone cheating.
