couldnt have said it better myself cussto
It's good to see the passion people are showing for this forum. This is a great place to chat and will remain so. Change is something that happens all the time. Look back in history at the concern when HD decided to remove the kick starter and replace it with electric start. That was so controversial that for a short period they built bikes with both! Same goes for when the Evolution engine was introduced. We are seeing now a significant change in the HD line up with the Milwaukie 8 engines and the complete restyling of the HD range. Some like it...others don't...yet.
Over time this forum has seen many changes, some with concern and a little controversy but take a look around. We are all better off with what we have here today.
For those expressing their concern or dislike for the proposed changes I say this. Let's wait and see what develops. When the new format arrives take a little time to "test ride" and get used to it before making your final judgement. I know I will.
Onwards & Upwards to the next chapter of HD Forums Australia.
Thank you for your efforts KC.
Going to be a lonely place gathering from the feedback
It'll be fine PB. A year from now we can look back at this thread and wonder at what all the fuss was about.
Love the Flying High movie steelo.
A year from now i will have more knowledge about a bike i have no interest in only because its a tourer!
There's a sale at Penny's.
Did i miss something here.....
Hard to believe but yes you did. Watch the video.
Shirley you can't be serious?
its the wrong day to give up forums
^^^^^^ Perceptive newbie. As one of the first 500 members (I think), I agree totally.
How many of those 13,000 members are active?
1% is 130 and I think that would be more than the number regularly active
Me thinks the same FB, 200 would be tops active Aus wide, there was a WA effort to have there own site but that's gone now I've been told.
Well I'm a new member here, specifically because this is a specialist HD Australian forum. I've been on plenty of other forums as well, as we all probably have, but I don't want to talk about Honda step-throughs or hair gels or cat grooming or cake recipes. Those that do, fine, but not me and not most of the other blokes here I reckon.
If you want to start whinging about declining membership and niche forums, honestly, it makes me laugh.
I'm an ex-Victory rider, so tell me about it. Need I say more? But I will. What on earth are you whingeing about? Stay with the brand - it is strong enough to be self sustaining and you already have a metric cruiser thread - you can a few more similar threads if you like, however -
- if you dilute the drink too much, no one will come to the pub.
HD did this themselves with their two stroke trail bikes in the 1970s. Bad move. Don't make the same mistake with the forum now that Harley did with their bikes then.
C'mon you guys don't be like that.
How many active people at the AFL Grand Final? 18 players per side. There's 100,000 spectators cheering them on at the ground and millions more watching on the telly.
A forums value is not measured on active members alone. Many more come to be informed and entertained as members and many times more again browse as lurkers.
This is Australia's first, biggest and best HD enthusiast's forum. KC is just looking at taking us to the next level.
Lets all relax a little and enjoy the journey.
LOL. Yes it is.
