How many of those 13,000 members are active?
1% is 130 and I think that would be more than the number regularly active
Me thinks the same FB, 200 would be tops active Aus wide, there was a WA effort to have there own site but that's gone now I've been told.
Well I'm a new member here, specifically because this is a specialist HD Australian forum. I've been on plenty of other forums as well, as we all probably have, but I don't want to talk about Honda step-throughs or hair gels or cat grooming or cake recipes. Those that do, fine, but not me and not most of the other blokes here I reckon.
If you want to start whinging about declining membership and niche forums, honestly, it makes me laugh.
I'm an ex-Victory rider, so tell me about it. Need I say more? But I will. What on earth are you whingeing about? Stay with the brand - it is strong enough to be self sustaining and you already have a metric cruiser thread - you can a few more similar threads if you like, however -
- if you dilute the drink too much, no one will come to the pub.
HD did this themselves with their two stroke trail bikes in the 1970s. Bad move. Don't make the same mistake with the forum now that Harley did with their bikes then.
C'mon you guys don't be like that.
How many active people at the AFL Grand Final? 18 players per side. There's 100,000 spectators cheering them on at the ground and millions more watching on the telly.
A forums value is not measured on active members alone. Many more come to be informed and entertained as members and many times more again browse as lurkers.
This is Australia's first, biggest and best HD enthusiast's forum. KC is just looking at taking us to the next level.
Lets all relax a little and enjoy the journey.
Shirley you can't be serious?
its the wrong day to give up forums
LOL. Yes it is.
Agreed on all counts and most are grateful or else we wouldn't be here. I was only putting one post's stats re membership into context. Onwards and upwards...
Agreed! Well said. I am new here, but think this is a great forum and congrats to Webmaster and Mods on a fine effort.
Have you considered...
Bacon - Banana - Rum cake though?
You can get fat, healthy & pissed all at the same time!
Would be good to have a few slices stashed in your leather tool roll for survival rations, if your bike broke down.
Might be a useful wheeel bearing lubricant also
Be a good fire lighter and Muslim repellent.
Now that we're all getting the feel of the proposed new look forum, would anyone like my recipe for Rum & Plum jam?
Sorry KC, just takin' the piss.
No, at this stage this website will stay effectively just the same. The new site will be a different site domain etc. But logins and some content may be shared between the two. Main point will be the new forum software will have many new features. It's little more than an idea at this stage. Much of it will depend on my time to do it.
