great work so far Steve, what was your concern re. insurance? tyre not being complied for Aus? How do you go with insurance in general doing something like this?
The piccy of the RG and SG do look cool, would like to see one in the flesh.

    cheers

    Hi Doc
main concern was using a rear tyre on the front as I've heard insurance have rejected claims before when this has been done. As for the size there isnt an issue there, simular to running a 21" wheel on a Street Glide. I have heard there are a few others in Australia but not many. Theres a Road King in WA for sale that has one and I'm in Qld.

Took her just for a quick ride and man that big front tyre was slippery for a few corners haha. Definitely has a different feel about her now and once i get used to the way she tips into corners I reckon it will be great to ride

This Roadglide had the fat front wheel conversion done by Westside Motorcycles over here in Perth WA, they have done a few conversions I was told...................Talking to the shop they say the handling is a huge improvement over the stock wheel ?.....................ive never ridden one so cant comment on handling, it looks good IMO........................

I can't help thinking if handling was a huge improvement, then the MoCo would have done it years ago?... Maybe

well i wouldn't say it's a huge improvement but it's definitely different. It does feel like it tips in quicker and does feel more stable. This was only from a quick ride so once I've done some k's on it I'll report back. As for the moco doing it standard they will never go to extremes with anything, they have however gone to a 160 18 front tyre on the new fatboys.

Wow! 160 is a FAT front tyre indeed . But when you consider most of the stopping power is on the front wheel, well it sort of makes sense.

looking good steve , how long till the guard goes on ?

I have been looking at this for my 17 street glide looked at the native kit but they machine the lower legs and still a cut out in the guard so now researching 160 instead maybe 21inch , just research at the moment ..

My mate is coming over on Tuesday to measure up and pick up the standard front guard. Very happy with the ride quality and performance.

Yeah it's getting there, he is bringing it over on the weekend to make sure it's going to fit up and do final measurements for the fork cutouts.

Yeah and he's only a young fella, probably late 20's at a guess. He did a lot of fabricating on my EH and still has some more to go.

Had to strip the front down just to get the cowbells off. They need to be modified to fit with the fat front guard.

There's a few in Australia but not many, ive not seen any around Brisbane or the Gold Coast though. The guard should be finished on Monday and then I will need to trial it before getting it painted.
