Gidday guys ... Pretty sure I have seen something written hear before but can't find it ... Anyhow am looking at getting some Stretched Saddle Bags for my 17 Road Glide Special from a company called Advan Black .
Has anyone got any feedback good or bad as I have read mainly good things on USA sites but always good to have as much info as possible .

Secondly does anyone know how the new tax laws that are coming in on 1st of July are going to affect online buying ... Apparently the old $1000 limit is going ... Typical government want to hit the little guy as usual and take more money from us ... No surprise there .

yes you can add an extra 10% on to the price, and the the Advan Black stuff is very good, I dont have any stuff as yet, but know a fella who has the stretched bags from them and says they are excellent quality

Gidday Odin ... thanks for the reply ... while any extra money grab from the Government gives me the shits i surpose 10% is not the worst outcome .

Can i ask did your mate tell you how much his Stretched bags cost ... got a quote online for 2 bags , no lids , no cutouts as i have a 2 into 1 Freedom Turnout , stainless skid plates on bottom in Velocity Sun Glo Red for $ 834 ... and thats even with shipping ... i made sure i clicked on the $ AUD as the USA price was even cheaper .

I reckon that is a pretty good price ... did the online chat thingy to a person from the site and asked him to confirm that figure which he did but for some reason i still feel sceptical ... anyone out there have any past experience .

TJU I bought my new bags from Advan Black I got the bags and fender extension with just the right side cut out as I run a D&D pipe I also added the stainless scuff plates all up was $900 delivered took 4 weeks for them to arrive due to painting They sent me an email with a tracking number 4 days after getting the email they were delivered Packed real well colour match was spot on  fitting was a breeze . if you need any info on getting your gaps right just send me a message . I have OCD so gaps being uniformed is a bog deal for me although I only notice see the back of my bike when im washing it

Thanks Tat2 for the reply ... Got your message as well , will definitely give you a call if I run into any issues .
Going to get the extended fender as well but didn't want to go over the $1000 limit which the Government is changing to a Zero limit as of 1st of July the A Holes ... Am getting the skid plates as well .

Am thinking of getting the CVO rear guard , really like the lights they have ... Would I need the Fender extension if I went down that track you think .

Was pretty happy with the price actually considering I was getting quotes as high as $3000 painted and delivered from other sources and like I said earlier I read mainly good things about them on USA sites but really good to hear from someone local ... Just hope mine won't be the bad exception to the rule ... Lol .

Did you have any pics of yours on the site at all ... Thanks again for the reply ... Cheers .

You won't need the fender extension if you go with the CVO rear fender
The fender is cut for twin exhaust so you won't have a clean transition from fender to bags
but if you like that look it's your bike bud

They pack things too well so if your easy on getting the packaging off wrap your original stuff up and box them up in the box makes life easy to store stock parts

Good point about the CVO Fender cutouts .... Looks like fender extension it is then .
Good advice about reusing the packing material , thanks .

Had a question about the Tri Bar lights at bottom of guard ... On the USA vids and forums they talk about and show their lights actually working ... Did the Aussie models not have this stock and is it a option Aussie dealers can sort out for us .

Tri bar light I use is from custom dynamics if you head to their website you will see them just make sure you buy one for international bikes
As there are 2 different types
I can dig out the part number or if you do a search there is a thread on them

Thanks Odin for getting Tat2 to contact me , it's been great hearing from someone local who has gone through the process and will definitely post a couple of pics when I get them fitted .
Tat2 ... Custom Dynamics was the name the USA boys had mentioned as well , will look into them for sure ... Thanks again for your assistance .

Bags have turned up ... Really happy with the Color match ... Will get some before and after pics as they don't look all that different sitting there on the lounge room floor .
Only real imperfections are some swirl marks you can see when you look at different angles ... Is there a proper technical term for it ... Looks like a orbital polisher was used when finishing up after the clear was applied .

Going to get a decent painter to give them a cut and polish before putting them on bike plus waiting for extended fender to turn up as well ... Then have to decide whether to go with Stretched side covers ... Look good but worried about the Missus big clod hoppers scratching them up , Lol .

I know I know , easy solution , don't take the Missus on bike , Lol ... But while it might sound strange to some I actually enjoy my Missus company ... Most of the time , Lol .

Chaser ... That's a good clean look ... Love that CVO rear guard set up , really gives the rear end a smooth look .
Wanted to go with the CVO guard myself but Advan Black don't do one yet that has no cutouts as I run a 2 into 1 pipes and I reckon it may have looked a bit weird having cutouts on the rear and no pipes poking out .

Dare say they will eventually so will take a look if they ever do ... In the meantime I have a Tri Bar light In there and also looking at a set of Bag Blades from Ciro3d ... They are red running and brake lights plus Amber flashing ... Real thin LEDs ... About 1 third as thick as OEM Harley bag lights .

Is that this bike in your pics section that has the Stretched side covers ... How do you go with passenger ... They look great .
