The last Windows 10 update

Just wondered if anyone else had problems with the last Win10 update?  It was a big patch and played havoc with my system.
I started the update late in the morning and didn't know how big it was - ended up going to bed.  Upon reboot (when it tells me to) it gives a system profile error and wont load Windoze.  Reboot, wont load.
Luckily I'm not new to their shit so I reboot in Safe mode (my normal way wont work so I have to go into recovery mode options) with networking on and it starts installing it's updates again, so it obviously hadn't even finished.
I get into Windoze and it's set my browser to windoze edge (fuck off) and changed some file associations (pdf files are the obvious ones right off).

So if you don't know how you might want to look into how to boot your particular system into safe mode just in case.  They hand these updates out in stages I think so you might not get yours for a few weeks.

Can't wait to see what else these pricks have done.

Are you talking about Windows 10 version 1803 ?
I was bored at work so i upgraded an old system from Win7 32 to Win10 64 bit, and then upgraded to the newest version 1803.
It updated seamlessly, but did take a while, as it is a totally new build of windows.
I was pretty impressed that it loaded all the correct drivers.
It all appears to be stable, but I have heard of several earlier issues with the upgrade.

It's funny.  I was reading an article that dealt with exactly what I was talking about, but it was for an update in 2016.  It seems to strike many people, but not all and I'm thinking my antivirus picked out some of it's shit as a malicious rootkit.

I set all my programs the way I like them btw, then two seconds later windows said there was a problem viewing the file I was viewing (and I have viewed 100 times before) so it set in back to the default program association - except it set EVERYTHING back to default, including picture/movie/music/pdf/browser etc viewers.  So I did what the article suggested and uninstalled their default programs....now it all seems fine.

    Hey Bonkerz

Funny you should mention that, my system has been running all so f**k slow, even timing out on Service provider! (Optus NBN).

Even my Wi Fi Printer shit itself!

Any comments from the "nerd heard" much appreciated!

When I mean "nerd heard"..your in IT...and make the big bucks...not an offshore "Hello Sir" service!

Computer problems are like motorcycle problems - it could be one of a dozen things usually.

    Printer:

When did it stop working?  If it was when you got NBN it stopped working because your wifi password changed.  Re-set it up as if you had just bought it.
    If not:
Does it light up like normal?
Did your wifi printer stop working altogether or is it just slow?
Does it work fine if you hook it up an Ethernet cable?
Does it work fine if you hook it up via a printer cable?

    NBN slowness:

Is it only slow certain times of the day?  How about late at night?
Are you running a virus scanner that you keep updated?
    Is your wifi password strong?
How many people are using the connection?  Are you using p2p?  Netflix (etc?)
