    Gday boys , im looking for some SE slips on for 2008 xlc. . I a dumb bunt, cant find shit.  Had short shots,  going deaf , been running stock for a while . over that. Can anyone recommend any where.  goodonyas

    if you can go new, try kromeworks tapered slip ons,look just like factory,weigh a lot less and sound good/give a little boost as well [did on my fxdl at least]. fitted well too.got mine from rollies.cheers

    burtman, we have a guy in Victoria that makes good slip on's, that work well too. Look or try to contact Sonic (has made Harley slip on's and system's a long time ) I like to let new people know about Australian made as I don't think a lot know about them. If you can get there contact number , could get some made and set up to what your looking for.

    I am sure I had a set of Sonic slip-on's on my 94 FLSTN back in the last 90's. Good pipes not too loud but certainly louder that std. I think they even looked exactly the same as std pipes.

     Goodonya boys , fkn hopeless on pc , im stuck in the sixties , only just got me first mobile phone. Ive had a look at the khome werks. I think I can get em from Aussie dealers. They look good . I will check out sonic . thanks again, Burt

    Hey Burtman, if you draw a blank wiht those options, don’t discount the screamin eagles. I have a set on my 2010 and I reckon they get a bad rap from many when they are in fact very good. They have a good note, are louder and much deeper in tone than stock but not so loud they are going to get you into trouble. I reckon people just like puttin $hit on them because everyone else does.     Have a set of V&H HS Slip ons to suit sporty I don't want.

    In as new condition, with heat shields if you want them.

    Haven't had a sporty in years I don't even know why I have them here haha.

    Hilly, my sporty I have now came with SE11's I looked & thought they look a bit restrictive compared to the old SE slip on's. the Sonic are like the old SE slip on's.
    a mate gave me a almost new set of one piece duel's very solid, well made good Chrome but look a bit restrictive. they could possibly be Chrome Werks do you have any experience with them?

    Do you reckon the s&s tapered turbo muffler for an evo softail would mount up ok to a twin cam dyna with street bob oem staggered headers?

    Hey Hilly, yes, just have to see how they go.
    With my Sporty it's for riding corners & rough Aussie roads, so has long shocks, all the American 2 into 1's are ground scrapers. Plus as they are mostly low when you fit a longer set of shocks, the axle comes down to sit level with muffler ( clearance issue ). best 2 into 1 for sporty's, is the System made in Australia by MegaCycle. it's made for long shocks too. was the pipe all the Twin Sport ( roaring sporty's ) Harley sponsored in the 90's. my stock shocks were 13.5" the Ohlins I got are 15" & the twin sports racers ran 15.5". waiting to see how these duels work and if the clear the axle. should have it going this month.

    Hi All
    I have just fitted a set of Kromeworks tapered turbo's to my MY16 1200C. Look just like the originals and fitted without any hassles at all. They sound deep and not too loud which is what I was after.
    On first ride it crackled and popped when backing off and was rough on cruise.

    The question I have now is does it now need a remap and if so is it safe to ride to a shop 3/4 hr away. In the old days (I'm a grey nomad) I wouldn't dare ride too far for fear of burning out a valve or something (mind you in the old days I would have just re-jetted and tuned the carbs).

    Any thought are appreciated. Cheers Pedro

    Don't have one Hilly have to go to a shop for the remap. Everyone in my part of the world (central coast nsw) has either retired or shut up shop.
    Only dealers left.

    Don't have anything in mind.
    After some more research Seems to be some different opinions on the subject.  some say it's ok and the efi will  compensate for the new muffler after a good run. Others say you have to retune.

    Are you a hands on or hands off guy?  ie I have a Thundermax (with the wideband autotune option) on my 09 Sporty and am happy to plug a laptop into it and load a map that comes with the Thundermax unit.  Make a BIG difference to have the bike remapped that's for sure.

    If your hands off, then perhaps a stealer approach would suit better, I just hate being tied into having to go to a shop to have the bike tweaked all the time.
