Start of a new project. Still in the process of collecting all the parts I need and deciding on options for a few things but this will be the bare bones.

What are the USD forks off?  I have seen Buell ones used on an FXR (may have a link to it somewhere)

Early R1, some of the longest sportbike forks available @745mm centre axle to fork cap. The silver ones are cbr1k and are are 695mm. My 2in over 39mm forks are 825 for comparison.

    Thats interesting about the length.
Are you making a single set from both the R1s and CBrs (Ie longest length with radial caliper mounts)?

Nah, they're just in pic for comparison. Not fussed over the radial mounts. Geometry and length is much more important.
The axial mounts should give me more options to correctly space caliper and rotor setup too.

Looks like a good project John!
I did not know Delcron, made gear box housing for FXR, but my old shovel still has the Delcron cases ( a long way down the track ) good move as swingarm goes into it.
I had a rear engine mount break on my 01 Dyna TC at the drags, & I was doing over 160kph at the time, bad feeling!!
how long do you think it will take you?

    Cheers Krash.
Bit of a rare part that Delkron tranny case, since they arent around anymore. Their moulds are cactus.

Timeframe varies. Once my adaptors arrive i could start puttin it together, but i want to do it much nicer than originally planned, which costs more..

I really want to rewire the bike with a Motogadget M unit, which would make it easier to run an ignition that has a MAP sensor. Otherwise I could clean up the stock wiring harness and run a standalone thunderheart ign.

Im also eyeing off a nice thick chrome alloy swingarm and spherical bearing kit to use over stock.

You got a sump conversion sorted? The deviant fab one supposed to be good but that dude is a pain to deal with. Never again.

Not needed for this route. Deviant Fab just put out the swingarm Ive been eyeing off, not cool to hear they're painful to deal with. Seems to be a common complaint for a few players in this space though!

There was a reason he scarpered to Lebanon put it that way. Mine was just fairings and a front guard. I wouldn’t trust him with such an integral part of the bike like a swingarm. Have a look at what brocks performance is doing with the swingarms.

    Damn that sucks.
Yeah theres a few really good swingarms around, but some of them are super exxy, so I might sit tight.

In other news ive pretty much decided im gonna rewire the bike and run a moto gadget munit.

Hi John.  Why the 80inch sign over the 110 motor pic and where'd you find the frame?
I've been looking for a straight later WG frame for a while.

80in was just mucking around, unless you're the authorities then its real and actually 80in haha
Frame was found via fb and someone parting a bike out. Theres a dude on ebay that sells wrecked bikes and Harleys. Youve gotta buy the whole bike though.

Are WG frames different to normal dyna frames.?

Found a decent set of the calipers I was chasing. If im lucky, they'll clear the spokes on the 9 spoke mag. If not, itll be back to original plan of rotor adaptor/spacer and a 300mm disc.
Radial calipers wont clear the spokes on a 9 spoke mag fyi. Need to run 13 spokes, then you lose the mechanical speedo drive.

I need to have a good look at the wiring for those tranny speedo sensors. The delkrom and trapdoor have a provision for this speedo. So if i can lock that in, when i get the front end sorted i wont bother with a mechanical speedo provision.

The 2010 up WG frames have a 34 degree rake vs the other Dynas 29 degrees.
I saw a wrecked one but it wasn’t for re registration and gringing off the frame numbers wouldn’t get it past those nasty authorities as you called em.
They are listed as a part, got the number etc but HD refuses to sell me one unless I hand over an exchange frame and to get that I have to buy a whole wrecked bike $$$ too many.

In the case your best off looking for the cheapest 1 you can find and selling everything off off it. Post up some wanted to buy ads.
This FXR had its motor blow up so the bloke just split it all up.
