Interested to hear about any good coastal pubs etc to stay at between the VIC/NSW border and say Jarvis Bay. Would rather not leave bikes parked on the main street overnight.
    Cheers

I think the Central Tilba Pub would be ok, as they have bike shows with live entertainment, once a year. you would need to book ahead I think as only small but classic two story wooden, Wild West style pub with beer garden & barn out the back.

We have stayed at the Coastal Comfort motel at Narooma a few times now. Nice clean place and parking in front of your room and around the corner from the main road.
     02 4476 2256 is there number.
Also stayed at  the Coachmans Rest in Eden 8 years ago. that was ok. They have there own restaurant and drinking area inside.

Far Canal, Bermagui is a nice place to stay mate - turn off at Bega if coming up the Hwy, and head to Tathra, the old pub on the top of the hill at Tathra has had a pretty good birthday and serves nice food. Head from there thru Mimosa Rocks NP - the 1st section out of Tathra is nice and twisty and a quick 40" run into Bermagui, it's a very pretty fishing town. I've stayed in the pub, which to be honest, is pretty ordinary accommodation wise, though the pub itself has been done up recently and the attached restaurant serves nice grub. Last time I was there (September) we stayed at the Motor Inn, which is about a 5 - 10" walk to the pub.
Jervis Bay wise, you have to visit Huskisson (pub has great views and food) and Hyams Beach. Unsure on accommodation or parking arrangements though, as it's only a nice day trip for me from my place.

Cheers Doc. That all sounds like good advice. We had Bermagui and Jervis bay on our hit list as it happens. It will be interesting to see Bermagui after a 30 odd year lapse.

FC, my place is 10 mins north of Jervis Bay. You're welcome to stay here at my place or the van park. Great Pub, servo, great Chinese, lock up parking, etc. Local van park often hosts the H.O.G., no Houso's, fuck all crime, etc. I'm retired so I can tour you around the sights if you wish.
    Cheers.

And where did you stay, for me I don't consider anywhere unless I can walk to the Pub regardless of what it costs.

There was no shortage of places to choose from as it was not school holidays. Lakes Entrance had heaps of places, hotel/motel at Mallacoota, motel over the road from pub at Narooma, motel at Ulladulla, Family in Sydney, Lake George Hotel/motel at Bungendore, Khancoban hotel/motel, Coach house inn at Bright.
Walking distance to a pub is a must for me too.

Bugger that, at my pub Lauren, (a gorgeous skinny little blonde with a great rack) comes and picks me up and drops me off.
