    Wrong choice of colors, surely by now marketing would know that Electric Orange is faster

    It's the opposite with me. The Widey puts my spine almost vertical and my legs are too far forward to take any weight. There's one particular bump here, left lane bridge joint coming off the ring road onto Lavarack Road, for the locals, that gives me a big thump. I have a couple of dodgy discs in my back so this doesn't help.

    The Trump leans me forward and allows me to put my weight on the pegs. Pegs are a little high, resulting in a hip cramp or two when I first set off, Causing me to stretch the leg out sideways while I lean the other way to counterbalance, but it's fine after that.

    Fair enough Smokey, I suppose we each have a very particular riding position that finds the 'sweet spot' for comfort, especially for longer distances. Seems the older I get the further & longer I find myself riding.

    I reckon it looks great, perhaps one of the better looking HD’s for a few years now. 
    Price and range will be key; perhaps Harley can sell a solar panel package for ya house (subtletly branded, of course) and I’d be in!

    It looks huge, or have they got a kid riding it. 
    Rear peg position would kill my knees, that’s why I sold my 900ss bevel.

    Don"t mind its Torque, HP, but buggered if I'm stopping at woolies every 100 Ks. for box of energiser batteries. lol...

    that looks alright, BUT , it an't a Motor sickle! ( no motor ) I have a electric mountain bike, you have to peddle to get assistance from the electric motor. has three levels of assistance. the lowest is 20% then next is 50% then  100%. I mostly just leave it in 20% as then I get a long range. when your speed hits 25kph the motor cuts out and your power the bike peddling. I  ride with a fast group on single track or fire trails in mountains. 50 to 60 k average about 20 k an hour. thing is the battery they use is heavy & has a limited number of charges to a life span & expensive takes a while to charge up if battery low.
    I think this bike is just to target inner urban set that do short rides ( cafe to cafe ) I also think Harley in a big panic . But I'm sure the bike will perform, but how heavy will it be?

    100kms was the range of the prototype four years ago, I'd expect a decent increase on that by now.

    With regards to your pedal assist bike, all good stuff but you have to compare apples with apples. I test rode the Zero motorcycle couple of years back, performance-wise I could say it would leave any road ridden piston engined bike for dead & that was technology from a few years back, the manufacturers have to actually limit the torque at certain revs to make the things rideable! Harley have an even newer tech setup & undoubtedly have improved the charge range, you will have choice of power/economy settings (just like your peddle assist bike).

    Embrace change! Yes,  I too will miss the exhaust note (which is the major attraction of Harley).

    Wideglider I know the electric motors have strong torque. but your riding total loss ( battery not being recharged ) so the harder you ride the faster the battery drains. just have to find out how many watt the motor has how many amp hour the battery has. it's not free power.  and will have a very poor resale value.

    probably in future they will have banned two wheels if they have there way.
