I've tried SBS and Lyndall gold and gone back to the stock HD pads. I put new floating rotors front and back with Lyndall gold and thought what a waste of money... now back with stock HD which seem to work best. IMHO

Lyndall pads seem to not bite as hard on the first grab of the lever but i think they really bite hard when you squeeze hard. The std seem to grab hard at first grab.

Hey Pauly, yeah exactly. I like the feel of getting some grab first up...

sound like race brake pads, as they get hot they work better. stock feel good cold, but less feel hot. depends where your riding how u ride. but guy I talked about that said he tried a lot of fancy high priced pads and in end all worked about the same. that guy rides that hard his brake leaver hit's the bars, he said thats how you know when your riding hard enough. ( brake fluid boiling.

Lets be totally honest and admit that std Harley brakes are not the best in class for any of the model range. They certainly have improved 10 fold with the use of brembo equipment on the newer bikes but wont outbreak a sports bike at any stage. The only affordable way to improve them is via the pads and as you stated it depends on how you like that initial bite as to the sort of pad you choose.
