I think this is probably the stompy ground for an Australian bush ranger back in the day, Captain Thunder bolt  aka  Frederick Wordsworth Ward (1835 – 25 May 1870), better known by the self-styled pseudonym of Captain Thunderbolt, was an Australian bushranger renowned for escaping from Cockatoo Island, and also for his reputation as the "gentleman bushranger" and his lengthy survival, being the longest roaming bushranger in nsw.. Its  on the New England Hwy at Uralla my Dad took me their when I was a kid

I was on the road called "Thunderbolts way" last year and seem to recall it was sealed the whole way.
Not sure which road MDB is on (that he calls Thunderbolt) in that episode.

He was at Thunderbolts Lookout Track @ Barrington Tops NSW 2422 which is off Barrington Tops Forest Road: Below is from the Barrington Tops Tourism site:

Barrington Tops Forest Road: 2WD suitable, this is the main access road across Barrington Tops from Gloucester to Scone. On the Gloucester side it starts as Scone Rd (at Thunderbolts Way, 8km from Gloucester) and is a bitumen road to the Dilgry River bridge at Cobark where it then becomes Barrington Tops Forest Road. This road is bitumen sealed up the plateau to the park entrance (45km from Gloucester). Then it’s an unsealed gravel road across the plateau to the Dingo Gate (31km) on the western entrance to the parklands. Barrington Tops Forest Road continues down the western side of the plateau, unsealed for a further 15km to Hunter Road. Hunter Road is bitumen into Moonan Flat and onwards to Scone.
The gravel roads within the parklands can deteriorate after rain or snow and may be closed at short notice if deemed unsafe. Check the condition of your spare tyre and drive to conditions… ie. slow down!

I nearly pissed myself laughing. Still got tears in my eyes. I'll just stop and take a photo with the bike in a fast flowing tide. What could go wrong.

if it was any other bike then maybe, but the roadking doesnt deserve to end that way, i would rather see him break his leg or something just coz hes a twat ! .. the bikes pulled him out of the shit too many times and done things its not designed to do to end up a rust bucket stuck in the sand .
but i agree with your sentiment !
