    Hi all,
Just bought my first Harley, 2003 Night Train, don’t have a lot of info on it as it’s a dealer used bike.
Has basic mods like a hi flow air cleaner, big radius exhaust and some other custom bits and pieces.
Sounds like it may have cams, but no way to be sure without looking inside!
Hoping to get some advice and idea’s for future mods and meet some people along the way!

Hey Leary360 , enjoy your new ride. I owned. a twin cam that was a carb model like yours, but mine was 2001 year, I got new road lot of k's on it. if it was me I would hope motor about stock, I've no experience with the pipes you have , & that's not my worry if they work for you they are sweet! only concern is if cam's have changed they might have heavier valve springs. if cam's are a bolt in no worries. heavier springs put more load on the cam chain tensioners . you don't want that.
    good luck.

Welcome Leary, I had till December a 2004 nightrain, Carb, worked out to a 103 with SE 575 cams (from memory), had only one issue with the motor, collapsed a cam bearing, hence the rebuild, great bike, toured all over the country on it.

    enjoy

Thanks all for the warm welcome, Looking forward to getting to know you guys and racking your brains for info and experience.
At this stage I'm happy riding it just how it is and enjoying it as much as I can!
However, with a long history in the motorbike scene, its only natural for me to want to play around and change some things up!
Over time I''m looking to start some of the following mods and not in any particular order, most probably over the winter months when its not getting used.
I'm hoping to customise a few things while keeping it along the original night train lines and remain rideable and enjoyable.

Mods I'm thinking of at this stage (but will prob change as I go)

    *black fork lowers
    *200 rear end
    *23inch spoked front wheel
    *18inch rear wheel
    *124ci S&S kit
    *Slim line indicators

This is the closest bike I find similar to what I'm aiming for.

While I'm looking forward to asking some questions, what is the best way to go about getting the info I'm chasing, would it be better to start a build thread, Start asking questions here or start a thread for each topic I'm chasing info on???

    Thanks again

    Welcome to the forum.
Bike not getting used in the winter months you say - you must be in Tassie?!
Just start a new thread for each mod you want to talk about.
