Im relativity new the the cruiser scene still on my first set of tyres on an 2016 Low Rider, but Im really surprised at the tire life. I only have 5000kms on the bike but they are no where near showing any signs of wear. On my other bikes Ive had, sport tourer's and currently have a VFR 800 Im lucky to get 6-8000kms out of a set of multi compound tyres. I was expecting to get less due to the weight of the HD, however the standard Dunlops dont give me a great deal of confidence especially in the wet. My next set will be as soft and grippy as possible, dont really care if they only last 10000kms, a set of tyres is cheap if it stops me from having a slide in the wet.

What are the best gripping tryes in the wet from peoples experience.

Hey Leachy, I never trust any tyre 100% in wet.
you can hit a patch with diesel fuel on the road & things like that. I've always liked Avon myself but because I'm in the bush, I had to take what local shop had in stock Harley dunlop on front Avon on rear have ridden in wet twice but not really riding hard. no drama. but was not racing.

    Hey Krash.
Mine was wearing out too fast.
I measured (https://youtu.be/vuwGM0Xx378) and found the guy who put on the tyre didn’t check!

I have a night dragon on the front and will fit the same on the back soon. I had 4 "moments" last time out as it started raining (again) all from the back stock Dunlop losing traction and I was riding very sedatly, I dont mind the stock tyre in the dry, but it is bloody dangerous in the wet.
The front never felt like it was gonna go, even when the back walked out a fair way.

I just put the new released Bridgestone Battlecruise on the rear of my evo Softail and so far very impressed . Not sure what mileage I will get out of this tyre but I will be happy to keep running these tyres, the bike just feels so much better to ride than it did with the Night Dragon on the rear.

Thanks Choco, I was looking at the battle cruise earlier on before I fitted the new front. Havn't had a lot of feedback on it here, why did the nightdragon on the back feel bad? And why does the battle cruise fell better, just after some feed back.
I really like the front night dragon compared to the stock Dunlop especially in the wet. Do you have the battle cruise on the front as well, or a night dragon ?

Anyone run the Avon Cobra Chrome's yet? They look nice and sticky. Battlecruise is probably a more sensible choice and will be looking into them as well, next change will be front and rear.

G'day Ken. I am still running a Night Dragon on the front it still has a fair bit of life left in it. When I had the Night Dragon on the rear it was good but sometimes until the tyre really got hot enough it could feel a bit slippery and some other riders have said the same thing.  The Bridgestone Battlecruise a local bike mechanic talked me into trying this tyre and I am so glad he did. My bike just feels so much better to ride and I have a lot more confidence with the way my bike handles (evo Softail's are not the best handling bike to start with) and with the Bridgestone on I have ridden my bike on dry and wet roads and it feels safe. Ken nothing wrong with the Night Dragon's but for me from now on I be staying with the Battlecruise cheers.

Thanks for the reply mate. Might give one a go :)
Are you going to fit one on the front when the current Night Dragon is done?

I feel when the time comes I will fit a Battlecruise on the front. Don't get me wrong the Night Dragon's are a very good tyre but if the front Battlecruise is as good as the rear I will be a very man cheers.

I have a lot left in my front as it is pretty new with only about 2500 km or so on it.
Be intrested to hear how the front one goes if you fit one before I do.
    Cheers

I have a new Avon Cobra Chrome going on this week to the front of the Dyna GM, will be doing a run up the QLD coast first week of August, will let you know my thoughts on it.
