Surely a new car holds more appeal than a 2006 Hyundai?

I’m driving a 2009 diesel Prado, the 120 not the 150, compared em and chose the older 120 model, before that a 1998 petrol Prado. Both were purchased new. I only changed bacause the petrol was using up to 27ltrs per 100k, most the diesel uses when towing same rig is 13ltrs. Around town, 9.5ltrs. Just hit 210,000 and gotta say I agree with you. In my case the new Prados are no where near as user friendly, you can’t even remove the third row seats. The Landcruiser’s too fat and all those twincab utes drive like utes and are too bloody long. So, I’m with you, I’ll be sticking with my old car till she drops, it’ll probably outlive me, same with your Hyundai.
Mind you, if I had bigger balls I’d get a V8 Range Rover Sport but Jeeze they’re not known for reliability.

Yep I know what mean. The Hyundai was the wife's car I sold mine a few years ago and now we down to one car. It might be just me but I can't seem to lust over the new cars of today. I don't mind some of the twin cab utes but I really don't see the value in them for $40000 plus dollars and that is for any ute. Anyway I keep searching there must be a car out that I will fall in love with

    Get ute’d! Worked for me.
I see your point. I got a new Ranger as it was the only ute around that doesn’t drive like a ute. Love it. Doing many more interesting things and carry heaps of stuff around.

But surely there is a decent 2nd hand option or something else out there? Try a 2 year old Kia Sportage - it will still have warranty (7 yr from new), is a medium SUV and better value imo than a RAV4. Still Korean. Alternatively, a Suby Forester if you want something more off-road capable.

Try a Mazda 6 wagon for fun.

    Negotiate hard.
