    Hi all,

I just got an used 2016 sportster xl1200c, it has S&S slip-ons, sounds great but very loud as the previous owner removed the baffles. I want to reduce the noise and found stock slip-ons online for a 2007 sportster, can I use these on a 2016 model?

There is also a full exhaust for little bit more from a 2016 72 sportster, I am guessing this is same as the stock on the xl1200c as the engine is same, please correct me if I am wrong.

    thanks,
    Yudi

    Hi yudi,
can you buy replacement baffle from S&S?
what happened to the original stock slip on mufflers that came new with the bike?

Mate, get baffles for the S&S mufflers if you can and keep using them.

    Hi guys,

Replacement baffles are roughly 100 each or so, and the store person said that even with baffles, they are very loud, hence going for stock (apparently stock supposed to be the most quiet). Also S&S baffles are not that common compared to Vance & Hines.
Bike has had couple of owners, the previous owner did not have baffles. I guess he did not mind the loud pipes.
I found some stock pipes/mufflers online, should be able to get a replacement soon.

    Thanks,
    Yudi

Hey Yudi, The bad news is the 2007 standard mufflers will not fit a 2016. They changed the set up of the balance pipe attached to the bike in 2014. You will need 2014 or later stock mufflers to fit. rather than go for stock (which are very restrictive and sound horrible), suggest you try the Screaming Eagle slip ons. They come up second hand from time to time (there is a set on Gumtree at the moment), are not too loud but aide performance and sound pretty decent. Cheers, TC
