We used to ride natio 5 times a week , every day after work and actually used to run my superbike in after engine builds after work through there. I was the manager of the bike shop in Sutherland in those days. They tell me its very heavily policed now....i have seen many destroyed bikes in our workshop of those who ran out of talent !

Paulybronco you might actually know my uncle Keith Timmins who was the Dealer Principle/Owner of Sutherland Nissan in Kirrawee in he 80’s? I wasn’t born and bred in the Shire, but always had family here.
I’ve done some runs in the natio whilst living here, and it is policed moderately. I grew up in Bathurst 1km from Mount Panorama, so I can understand the frustration of Highway Patrol haha! But I also hate hearing about severe crashes etc when people ride outside their ability.
Anyway, look forward to some more good stories on here
    Cheers

it's good during the week, I avoid the nation on weekends because of A) cops, B) camry's and Tarago's doing 30kph the whole way.

Natio is 15 mins from me (Stanwell Tops side). Speed limit is now 60k's all through it (even it the straights), not as much fun now as in the past, This is the typical knee jerk reaction after a few gladiator dressed sports bike riders come unstuck. Cops in cars hiding in bushes on alot of weekends so during the week now is more relaxed.

Pauli, remember Lady Carrington's Drive one-way (thankfully) from Audley to near Waterfall used to be open to traffic, dirt road was interesting my 180B. Just continuous dust all day.

Lady Carrington was one -way alright, the OTHER WAY! It was always east-bound only. We used to time ourselves in our rally cars. My old BDA might have hit 100mph in there...so said the Halda.
    Another Shire boy here...

Shit, now it makes sense. Always wondered why there was those idiots coming the other way towards me!
Well, about 35 years ago I last drove it, grew up in Heathcote East.
