    G'day,
    I finally fulfilled a childhood dream and brought myself my first Harley (17 FXDF) .
    I've been riding jap and euro bikes for years.
    Trying to get used to this American, and looking forward to gaining some knowledge from this forum and the people in it.

    Thanks for the kind welcome all!

    First port of call I recon will be looking at what I can do with the suspension on it, after riding euro bikes for the last few years that have dialed in suspension, I'm missing the "feel" good suspension gives. I understand that its a different style to what I've ridden in the past and its a monster heavy bike, but I assume there must be more that can be done to make it feel better than it does currently.

    edit: took me a few goes to get the picture in *facepalm*

    Don’t spend another cent on it ush for a year. Get a feel for the bike and develop new riding technique. They are bloody quick as they are. It’s apples v pears compared to what you’ve had.

    Thanks guys!
    Appreciate the very warm welcome!
    Thanks for the advice Steelo and imoo - I am getting a feel for the bike, and appreciate that they are apples vs pears to what I'm used to;
    I'm learning how to corner a cruiser with forward controls, but my issue is the unnerving way the bike doesn't soak up the rough regional Victorian roads, it just skips across the bumps with the front wheel leaving the ground more than i like even in just a straight line...

    Thanks for the compliment bloodog!
