Hi Benno I'm away from home for a bit so working off memory. I think the keys are kinchrome that I bought from bunnings in their tool section. The socket bits might also be kinchrome but I can't remember for sure - I bought them from a specialty tool shop. I rarely use the keys as I locktite everything (mostly blue locktite) and the socket bits obviously work better at loosening and tightening than the keys. I use sidchrome socket tools and another good brand which I can't remember for torque wrenches. All from a specialty tool shop. I don't buy cheap tools anymore (learnt my lesson). Hope you find some good ones

I didn't want to hijack Ammitys thread any further, so I thought I would create this one. I have not been real happy with the fit of a couple of sets of Torx keys that I have purchased and have even changed some of the fasteners on my Dyna back to allen head because of it. Fatbat mentioned that he had bought some better quality torx tools and was happier with them (see above).
I have a set of Kinchrome keys, but think they are a pretty loose fit also, anybody found a set that is a tighter fit, I am pretty anal when it comes to the fasteners on my bike, I have a Snap On 1/2 & 1/4" torque wrench,  which I use and follow the MoCo's specs,  sidchrome sockets and spanners, but I still grimace every time I use these fkn Torx keys. Whats everyone else using.
    Cheers Benno

Benno I don’t like using keys much because you can’t put as much downward pressure on them as you can with sockets. Try torx socket bits, press on hard and I reckon you’ll be happy

They are the tamper proof type and are easy to break if you have used loctite. I prefer the non tamper proof type (the ones that do not have the holes in the ends) as they are stronger.

I prefer socket bits for not only torx but allen aswell. I bought a full metric & imperial Kinchrome kit. I still swap out a lot of original torx bolts for allen head though, not a fan.
When buying a set make sure it's a full set. I saw plenty that had T15, T20, T25, T30 but didn't have T27 and I've used that size heaps!

    agree 100 %
but i change them out, when i can with socket head screws ( not on all situations ).
or if you really need to, change to hex head screws.
a good tip, get a ball peen hammer and put it on the re-moved screw then give it a good hit to true up the drive of the screw/bolt

Yeah, I'm hearing ya Ralphski. Especially on the fixtures on the end caps that hold the axle onto the fork sliders. The original (torx) ones on the 08ish softails were terrible.
Which ones have you swapped over?.
