Dash cams? Perhaps the Innovv K2

has anyone got any recommendation for a good bike dashcam setup that's not going to cost a fortune or need a rocket scientist to install (or a pointer to someone near Ringwood Vic who can supply/fit)? Almost got rear-ended last night by some muppet in a Merc who didn't see a red light at the end of the freeway offramp and would love to at least have some evidence next time! Luckily I was still in 1st holding clutch so managed to pull forward and off the road... he stopped almost level with my foot which made calling him every name under the sun easy!
    ideally looking for:
    - front and rear cameras 1080p with good low light (and decent filters for bright days/lights)
    - small (really small!) DVR unit (the Street Bob has nowhere it hide it, usual suspects of behind the battery cover or under the saddle are really limited!)
    - fully automatic, starts recording when I turn on, stops recording when I stop
    - decent memory card option so it'll record trips for a couple of days before starting to over-write (I really don't want to have to think about it unless I need it!)
    - built in GPS
    - reasonable phone app to configure and download footage (don't need a ton of useless features, just make it easy to find/review/export footage based on the time, or if it has GPS an area of the map, and download it) ... the one that comes with my car dashcam is pretty terrible (both at managing footage, updating firmware, and keeps trying to sell me new 'services' or a new camera to replace something that was their top-of-the-range 6 months ago!)
    - optional microphone (though mostly just road noise!)
    - optional 'panic button' that locks the previous and next (say) 10 mins of footage so it doesn't get over-written (and maybe a 'marker' button that makes it easier to find footage) but would want it small/discrete and easy to mount
    - optional 'parking mode' with an impact sensor (though only if it's not going to leave me with a flat battery miles from home!) ... though most of my pain comes from pedestrians in the Melbourne CBD I think... the number of times I get back to the bike and the alarm has been triggered :(

Hi OBM. I don't think the beast exists yet.
Check out dashcamtalk for latest discussions
I think Mickle has one on his bike, with front and back recording. Possibly an Innov? This new one could fit the bill. Here's a review on the Goldwing forum.
I tried a Bullet HD Biker pro and I thought that'd solve all my probs but sadly it failed a couple times and wasn't the waterproof unit they promised (look em up on same forum) so I ditched it.
Friends now just ride with a Gopro on their helmet. I use my old gopro3 fixed on the front fairing with external power. Both require turning on before each ride but will loop the video after 2 hours.
Good luck in your search and let us know when you find one with all those features. It'll be like a unicorn.
BTW, here's a link to the AU Innov dealer. Not cheap

With you Steelo, you can get secondhand Go Pro for as little as $80-$100 each and set them to loop. Waterproof and great footage. I have 2 in my wife and i vehicles but obviously they are not waterproof for bikes

    Hello folks.
OBM's post got me interested so I did some research. I had a disastrous experience with HDBiker Pro and like some of you, use a GoPro. It's not ideal. There's not a lot out there but the new Innovv K2 looks OK.
I contacted the Aussie distributor of Innovv Chris Hunt (in Sydney) and this is his latest reply to my emails.
The unit is not cheap at $495 but if ordered before the end of the month, comes with a 128gb memory card. I'm thinking about it. Be great on the Tourer with plenty of mounting spots.
I have also attached a link to his web site

    Hi Steve,
    Thank you for your patience.
We used to deal with INNOVV direct years ago (from the start really) when they launched the original C3. That camera was let down by poor hardware and to be honest INNOVV did not support resellers very well, so as a business we lost a lot of money on warranty costs. We looked very hard at other items from Korea, China and anywhere else to support bike owners, including the biker Pro but could not find anything that met customer needs and was of reliable quality.
Since then INNOVV have dramatically improved the quality of their product to the point where I consider them best in market for a bike camera in terms of video quality and build quality.  So much so that we have  agreed to act as their Australian based partner and support our Australian customers 100%. So if we cannot solve an issue in the warranty period then we just give our customers their money back ...simple... We don't advertise as such because there is always an element of consumers that abuse the system, but that is just the way we operate. And you now have this in writing.
Our stock lands to us on May 29 (subject to customs). We will commence shipping on the 30th.
We have now opened it up for sale on our website.
For all orders placed and paid for by Sunday 26th May 2019 we will include a Samsung EVO PLUS 128gb Micro SD at no additional cost.
Thank you again for considering Dashcam Central.
