Went to the local dealer today thinking I might be able to haggle on a $750 jacket. Made an offer and he looked at me like my dog just ate his dog.

Apparently they don't haggle or discount. At all. Nothing.

Over 40 years dealing with bike shops and this is the first time I've come across this.

Are all HD dealers as tight?

Dealers, used car salesmen and Politicians. You'll get a better deal out of the polly....

In SA our two dealers seem happy to knock 10% off the ticket price. Never tried to push it further.
Hate it when they have sales, you know nothing’s gonna fit, sales only apply to small or 3 to 4 XL.

And at $750 for a jacket! Does it come with a free hooker or something? Why is gods name are you shopping for jackets at the dealer?

I'm a Yeti. I found one jacket in the entire town made of leather that fits, is comfortable and looks good. It's got some advertising on it which I figure they should be kicking in for, but I figured they'd haggle at least a little. My mistake. Their loss.

You mention advertising - these days the customer pays the brand top dollar to wear the advertising logo on the apparel - go figure!
The designers/brand are laughing all the way to the bank.

Whats the going rate for a HOG discount? Also what about shopping in the USA (it not a bike part so the stealer should sell it)

Was in a dealership recently. Price of a new release jacket....$912.99 Fuckin ridiculous.

My local dealers generally offer 10% to HOG members
BYW - I have found great deals on used jackets on Gumtree, Facebook Marketplace and occasionally eBay - usually around the $250 to $350.

Check out bikers gear, they buy in and also make there own leather jackets and vests at a very reasonable price. Even have big fat c@#t sizes!

I've got one of their jackets, $230. By the weight there are about 7 cow hides in it.
