After finding my streetglide has a charging lead wired in as original equipment, i was quite impressed and promptly purhased a new trickle charger to do the job only to find when
connected it indicates reverse polarity. On connection to my car works fine? Is harley's wiring on these connectors different to ours? Any body found this before??? Both ends have prewired sae? connectors. Can modify wiring but why?
    Cheers Moik

Are you sure its a charging wire and not an accessory plug ?

    Shouldn’t matter pb.
Isn’t there 2 plugs. One on gear shift side under side cover / near pannier. Another brake side engine under seat?

Righteo. I think that one has a fuse. I seem to remember One time on the old bike. (On one side or the other) I plugged in the cable while it was turned on. Think I did the fuse in.
    Check that.
Plug in charger, then turn on at power.

I had a read of the manual and also found the connector was already there, I bought a trickle charger and stuck it on a couple days ago with no issues, it was on the left side tucked in behind the cover

I will have a look later for an accessory plug behind the right side, I do have one in the fairing but if I could wire one into my right pannier, that would be useful

Ok, Here's a wake up call to my self, bought charger on ebay. Have found it is wired incorrectly.  Charger comes with prewired sae type plugs and loom to hook to your car etc. When charger is not connected to loom positive male connecter on batt. side is left exposed and unfused! How dangerous is that? Harley is wired correctly. Some of the stuff imported these days? Buyer beware, pity someone who wires this to his car and does't realize the risk here.
    Cheers
