Went into Wackers BMW to enquire about the R18.....they tell me there will likely be 3 versions, from the stripped down bobber as seen in this thread, along with two more touring style versions.

Deposits were being taken.....guesstimate of the Bobber price was around 40K. I left with my deposit in my pocket.

Oz Dan, did you mean Wackers BMW?

    Yeah sorry Wackers.....

BMW would be ill advised to market it at that price. It has some opposition in the segment and is not going to be a limited edition run. My personal guess would be a fair bit less retail.

Agreed. I was very surprised. And disappointed. I’ve wanted a boxer for ages and this one seemed perfect. But whilst the price info is coming from a dealer, it’s only their guess....hope it’s way wrong.....not buying one at anything near 40K.

The big problem BMW boxers have, and Guzzi's is that due to the engine configuration it is really difficult to put forward controls  on them.
Who wants a laid back style bike, when your feet are sitting centimetres below your arse?. Unless you are a dwarf.

You seem to be the only one that finds that a deal breaker

At 193cm, it's a deal breaker for me.

Really just the first minute or so. Other gems of wisdom further along if you are patient.

Fn gold Far! I watched the whole show ha ha...It’s a big day for me tomorrow....the R18 looks like turning into a R Nine T Scrambler if the test ride goes well. Maybe I’ll call it Hitler in your honour lol

I’ve been waiting patiently for one of these, was a concept they put out a couple of years back based on the Gaston rahier Dakar R80

An old style basic R80 GS would be tempting.

I like that - go anywhere.....I’ve ordered my Scrambler with what I think are the same wheels (19 F 17 R)......

Looks good but I like a Vtwin sound and a place to put my legs out in front of me. Maybe a good bike for deaf midgets

Unfortunately, as myself and a few others here predicted , the production model is very different to look at compared to the prototype.
I’ve been told the price is around the 40k mark.     Pass.

I read today one of the versions was around $27,000.
Oil cooler is in a dumb place with the style of front guard that it runs.
    16 litre tank. Too small.
Something looks wrong with the arse-end of it, too big compared to the front.
    Hideous looking mufflers.
All of the above is my opinion only.
That 1.8 litre boxer would be mad humming away between your legs though.
