Even if there was a worldwide competition to do so you could not make an uglier muffler.
Come on you designers at BMW, the second world war is over. No need to have chambers you can gas people in.

Agree with you fc and also Neale. Couldn’t create an uglier muffler if you tried. Designers ought to shit in their hands and clap themselves for that

Unfortunately, as myself and a few others here predicted , the production model is very different to look at compared to the prototype.

I’ve been told the price is around the 40k mark.     Pass.

The photos i have seen are exactly the same...sure your not mistaking their tourer/bagger version?

Nah, protos had a cantilever seat like a Rocker. Production has tail rails like an older Softail.
Prices start at $27K, not $40K...

I found BMW MOTORAD Australia has an option to accessorise this bike on line

Glad there's another exhaust option ready to go. The stockers look like your Great-Granma's pantaloons.

I like the way some Dyno Operators use NM to measure Torque then go to HP to measure power. 158NM only about 116 Ft Pound of Torque ( still good TQ but a big motor.
So 109 cubic inch.  91HP 116ft TQ or if want Metric 1800cc 68KW  of Power 158NM of TQ

Think its to dazzle the ill informed with a big number. Decent numbers compared to a 114 cube HD

Old thread but finally saw one of these in the flesh. Barrels ain’t half huge, would certainly add a new twist to hot footin it down the road.
    (Click on pic to enlarge)
Not sure if I liked it or not, guess a test ride is in order.

Hmm, BMW might be on to something with those "barrels sticking out the side", who knows, it might catch on.

At the risk of upsetting a few, I’ve seen one parked near my work everyday for the past fortnight. Black and chrome. I wasnt keen at first, but on closer inspection, everything is so neat and tidy. I now like them. That said, it isn’t for me. Next BMW would be a R1250GSA and keep my 103 FXDL.

Might go into the the dealer and take a demo for an hour (plus) ride though. Just for shits and giggles!

    Couldn't  agree more  Chester.
But I am  biased  when it comes to BMW.
Ugliest  bikes ever invented. I dont care how  reliable  they are.
    I would  never  own one.
