Street bob wheels

    Hi everyone, new member!  I'm wanting to know if anyone else has rust forming on there factory street bob wheels? My bike is a 2016 garaged and looked after by the fussiest of owner, washed dryed and stored after every ride. The spokes are covered in rust spots and I can't seem to stop it. It's disappointing to think that harley davidson would make such poor quility rims. Anyone else suffering the same problem?

    Welcome mate. Harley has slipped in most things Travis including chrome, have you ever wondered why there are so many after market parts and accessories available for HD.....

    Thanks paulybronco, yes to say I'm disappointed is an understatement, I like the bike how it is but now I have to either respoke the rims, powdercoat them or replace them with aftermarket wheels that cost an arm and a leg. To make things harder I live in regional victoria with little to no way of actually trying them on before I purchase them.

    Hi TB. I know it pisses you off. Unless they were stainless spokes to start they will rust eventually. Get some alfoil and water and just give them a guick rub down, The rust will come right off (even if stainless) could spray some cheap tyre shine over them and then just monitor.
    When I got the deuce 7 years ago, I worried incessantly about small rust spots on the chrome rims and spokes. Gave them a clean and maintain them. No problems. You know, no one has ever said to me, hey look at the rust on the wheels.
    Don't spend the extra cash, Just ride the thing

    Cheers steelo, yeah it drives me mad mate! Alfoil ay.. no problem I'll try it out and see how it goes thank you.
    Yeah very true nobody has ever said that but it personally drives me mad knowing that it's there and also just disappointed that it's happened so fast (only 3 years old).
