As everyone else has said , this is very Sad News ... he made HD-TV for me ... extremely Cool guy ... met him down at Harley Days , was very Happy to get some pics taken and had the uncanny knack of sounding very genuine when asking about my ride when he didn`t know me at all .

A very big hole in Australia`s Motorcylce Industry ... R.I.P.

Sad news and too young to pass. He made the hdtv show for me too and seemed liked a very genuine person; obviously very clever and talented too.

Here is a good read about the Hunwick Hallam.
There's also a pile of links at the end of the article.

Paul showed me the X1R superbike that he had . An amazing piece of engineering .
A quick video below of him rinding it at the Geelong speed trials a few years back.

Thanks for posting this speedzter, it's a very interesting read. I have some very vague recollection of this from back in the day but wouldn't have ever made the connection to one of the ratbags from HDTV.
I only see the show occasionally but he comes across like your typical knock about Aussie bloke who was happy to goof off, take the piss and entertain but also be serious if needed. It just goes to confirm you never, ever underestimate anyone, beneath that character was a very, very clever man, RIP.

    Just found out.
R.I.P. Paul. An amazing engineer and also a fine man to watch on TV.

I only just found this out the other week!
I was at Phillip Island the day the Hunwick Hallam did its first laps and ever so grateful for Paul’s experience and guidance whilst building my FLHTC.

I remember two things, in his typical flamboyance :

    “She’ll be a little beauty” when looking at the box of parts I’d saved up for and handed over, and his response when I asked how I should run it in;
“Do what I do, take it easy to the front gate... then give it shit!”

An absolute gentleman and Catherine a queen!  I’m devastated for the family first and foremost and the riding fraternity next for the loss of an outstanding member!

sorry to hear about his passing , just found out about it
I meet him once in Sydney frasrs while he was filming a episode of HD TV , i asked him to kick start my 1981 FXWG flame glide & he declined ,saying that he had a bad knee or hip , so i kicked started it instead  & he has overwhelmed with it , all the while being filmed by HD TV
    ahh memory's
    A very sad passing
