Yeah Hogger, when riding you really do get a heightened experience of 'aromas', pleasant & sometimes not so pleasant. The unmistakable pong of a dead animal just hits you, it's not always a roo, can be wombats, pigs or deer around my way. Riding through forests or farmland you get a great varied whiff of trees & earth around you, especially just after rain.
Your 200 kays not bad, I find myself going on longer & longer rides as the years pass, some days will do 600 kays to explore a new route, normally always home for dinner though!

Hogger, that was a nice tale from a short ride, good for the soul.
The smells, the sounds, and the senses, are awakened when riding a motorcycle.
In more recent time I have lost the serenity that riding my big fat old girl (the bike) just being, instead riding for transport, A  to B stuff.
    Thanks for reminding me.

suppose that depends on where A starts and where B ends.

Then again, B to B is pretty cool.
But B to B looped was very cool.
Long time ago Christmas day used to be a fav day of mine long to ride my bike along the Montacute Scenic Road, loop, from memory it was about 28 kms of windey road in the Adelaide Hills, and hardly any fucken fucker was on the road as Christmas day around lunchish time, and most had their feed bags on...just had to watch any water running down the road. Hope fires didn't fuckup too much there. Ralphski?

Bruce means not tracking-back the same way you came - with a loop you get different road all the way.
If you're talking about 'back-roads', yeah agree, taking the longest route by secondary backroads is the most enjoyable on a bike.
