    Just found out about this little rippers 
    Joining wire place one of these over the join heat with cigaret litter and it melts the solder and shrinks a waterproof membrane over the top.

    Incase any of you lads did not know $7.50 free postage eBay for a great little box of them ass sizes.

    Blood that is a pearler, checked em out, and see a number of different kit sizes available for reasonable pricing too. I could have done with these a while ago, might grab some, as recently spent on heat shrink, that must have been embedded with gold from a electrical joint...

    I've known about these but never used them, they do look like they would simplify a splice connection. 
    Jaycar have them too, more expensive but sizes/quality may vary?

    I have been using them for a while, very easy to use and holds well, I will see how they go for water as I have done my boat trailer with them

    I thought they had a a heat glue in them as well that would provide water tightness.  Might give these a try actually.

    you are correct, the glue bit is the color bit each side,
    I think they are great

    Just same procedure as I used to do for the heatshrinking, borrow the wife's hairdryer turned up high.
