Thanks for putting up that link. Brings back memories, used to really enjoy bike racing those days. Can't be bothered these days, maybe I'm just getting older but we had more fun back then.

Luved going to Bathurst for the bike races. Many a year was spent camping on the mountain top. Fun days, excellent memories.
Attending Bathurst and the Castrol six Hour were my favourite events during the early 80's.

Cheers for posting Smokey, blast from the past!

I live a little far from Bathurst (Perth) but rode over with a few mates in 84,

we still have a laugh at some of the shit we got up to on that trip.

Easter races were brilliant, it a shame they were stopped.

Loved going with my mates, awesome times, great camping, too much booze and other stuff. Sat on 140km most of the way there & back to Victoria on mostly Z's. Harleys weren't up to scratch then & we mostly had Jap 4's & pommy twins with a few smokers revving there tits off. Very few Euro bikes. Massive fun, good times. Some body rode over me in my tent during one night but I was okay, numb from the booze.. Usually wore out a back tyre on that trip Always heard how bad the bikers were at Bathurst when I got to work. Media hype mostly. Thanks for bringing back the memories

    So much fun.
    So much to see.
I saw a guy ride a bike through a tent up there one year.
Guy I knew got arrested for starting the riot up there the year when the Channel 7 car got torched.
It wasn't him though, juts real bad timing.
I was on a 900 Honda Boldy with mates on Z1Rs and the like even a CBX 1000.
How much piss was taken up the top.
Castrol 6 hour at Amaroo and Oran Park.
    Best days ever.

A mate just told me you got to watch this , yep it was a flash back, saw one of the Traralgon boys wobbling around, for us it was a piss fest, a get together and 500 miles there and back having a laugh , and yes we watched the racing . lts hard to beleive it was 40 years ago and we all still ride , some actualy racing in the classics which we go to Broadford for. We still pack the swag and drink Jack at that track , in someways nothings changed.

Cold Chisel played at the annual motorbike race at Mount Panorama in Bathurst in April 1983. The evening ended with a riot between bikies and local police and this awesome song.

They arrested me for walking to the toilets the year before! no wonder the riot happened
