Just spent a great Sunday, mostly on clear rural roads (mostly powering along well over 110k's), a three schooner ride/steak sandwich with two country pubs visited (Crookwell & Braidwood). Sunny but mild, roads absolutely free of any traffic, just enjoying the exhaust note of the Bassini 2 into 1.
Loop was from home in Wollongong - Macquarie Pass, Moss Vale, old road to Goulburn, Crookwell, Goulburn, Tarago, Braidwood, King's Hwy to Bateman's Bay then straight up the Prince's Hwy back home in time for dinner in the Gong.
If you like to keep the speed up all day with plenty of twisties thrown in this is the route you need to take.
    9 hours & 600k's & the 24 year old Evo Dyna again didn't miss a beat.

I should add, if anyone's else is interested in coming along  - I'll probably do it exactly all the same again next week!

I’d be interested in some of that action!
The road from Gunning to Crookwell is sensational for such riding but don’t think you made it that far across?

I might be into that too. Don't know about the Crookwell part

9 hours on the bike is stretching it for me these days  but let us know when youre going again Wide.

Hey Krash, got 98 fuel at Bulli (home), Goulburn & Ulladulla. Drinks not compulsory but for me 3 mid-strengths (with a good meal) over the whole long day is not pushing it.
Great riding roads alright, made for bikes.

Didn't get as far out as Gunning but if you say it is good then it would go on the list sometime.
Even a ride out to Kangaroo Valley/Nowra/Nerriga is a buzz.

Yeah BB, doesn't have to be the whole day, sometimes I just take too much on & ride out quite far. We get a little leeway now with daylight savings (those Queenslanders just don't get it). Am open to any route suggestions, my starting point is Bulli.

good stuff Wideglider, have done most of them roads myself several times and agree it's a great ride with lack of other vehicles around. The run out to Taralga is always a good one with plenty of opportunity to open it up a bit. Lunch at the top pub is always good too. The wife and myself stayed the night at 'The Loaded Dog' Hotel at Tarago one night and had a great meal and service from the publican. We did the Macquarie Pass -Kangaroo Valley - Bombaderry - home (Shellharbour) loop last Sunday and had an awesome ride with a quick beer at the pub.
I've gotta say, we are pretty spolit in this part of Aus for great riding in close proximity, with generally great weather.

Yeah Doc, talk about a chance to open it up, these roads can give you a chance to open it up with tremendously long straights mixed with a few twisties for an hour at a time with very little traffic as you say.
It's then you get the feeling for what these bikes were really built for - comfort, powering along with minimal revs but having the ample torque behind them.
Never actually stopped at Taralga (having too much fun to stop), but should schedule a lunch break at the pub next time for a nice counter-meal.
Macquarie Pass, what can I say - ascending prefered of course, great way to start off the morning climbing that notorious twisty mother of a mountain!
Maybe catch you around Shellharbour sometime.

Wideglider , that's good, if it was a dry run, with just food &water or coffee, I'd go. I need fuel about every 200k to be safe. I might get out try that run. I'll have to do the Gunning to Crookwell too. I've been on the roads you used but not for a while, but Golburn to Batemans Bay a lot

I'm coming from further north than you blokes it seems. Goulburn will be a good meeting place to start the adventure, will take me 2 hours to get there from the Gong.
I'll be going from Bulli - Albion Park - Macquarie Pass (great way to start the day!) - Bundanoon  - Tallong - Goulburn (avoiding most of boring Freeway).
How about meet 10:30am at Goulburn? Fuel, Head to Gunning - Crookwell (lunch) - Taralga ( or lunch here?).  Back to Goulburn/fuel - Nerriga - Nowra/fuel then straight up Prince's Hwy for me back to the Gong.
Weather forecast low 20's, sunny- perfect riding conditions.
Coffee & steak sandwich or Schnitty enough to keep me charged.

I can do the following weekend but not this one ... others? Your route would work for me otherwise. The bakery near the Big Merino in Goulburn (Trappers?) would be a decent meeting point.

Just this Sunday doing the ride, going away for a few weeks after that, perhaps you're in for December sometime?
Regarding Goulburn meeting place - all good, don't know the bakery but not fussed where in the town we start.

Wideglider, another good loop, albeit much shorter is, up the Pass, thru Robbo turn off to Kangaloon, turn right on Sheepwash Rd and head to Bowral, turn right at Old South Rd and follow all the way to the Old Hume Hwy, turn right and thru Yerrinbool, Yanderra and into Bargo. Keep on going thru Picton and over Razorback Mt,  turn right onto Finns Rd go all the way to the end and right again on Menangle Rd, left  onto Camden Rd and thru Douglas Park,  turn onto Douglas Park Rd and follow that all the way to Wilton Rd, turn right onto Wilton Rd and thru to Appin, then home to Bulli.
Apologies if you've already done it, but I reckon it's a great shorter ride.
I'll keep an eye out for ya mate.
    Cheers
