Hi all just wondering if anybody could help with something that’s doing my head in
I am trying to put pushrods back in my 79 shovel
I know sometimes the intake pushrods can be slightly smaller but in my case  all the adjustable pushrods are the same length and solid lifters but for some reason the rear intake just won’t go in but the front cylinder intake 2mm clear space as do the exhaust so why is only the rear push rod effected
    Rockers are free to move
     All the timing cogs aligned
I have replaced cover so timing cogs are supported
Have rotated motor for lowest point to no avail
Not really sure what to do and I am reluctant to force it in without knowing why cheers for any suggestions

    Same as an early Evo.
    - Are you 100% sure that all the push rods are the same length?
    - Sometimes the top of the pushrod does not sit in the rocker arm cup properley (it sits on the edge) and this can make things a bloody tight fit.  Double check that.
    - Make sure that the lifter is on the 'heel'of the cam for that pushrod.  Looks to me in the second pic that its sitting on the cam 'bump'
    cheers
