Stoked again, with my transmission, that is gear changing.
Been playing with the quick shifter, which I finally set up pretty well.(Am not a mechanics arse)
So thought would change out transmission oil, which looked pristine, and in the box for a few months, just to smooth things along.
Have used shitloads of different oils in primary, trans, and engine, so thought would bung some Redline shockproof synthetic in.
Have used before a few years ago, and was impressed. Finally sourced some, swapped out, AND fuckme, I had forgotten how smooth that shit is, compared to say old 80/90 or watever. Gear changing is so smooth.
So just thought would pass on what I'd forgotten, if you've not tried the shit give it a go for interests sake.

Yeah the Redline shockproof heavy goes great in HD gearboxes, the bonus is it's a long life oil and I change every 20 000k's or more

Definetly tops in a tranny - been useing it in my Evo for 15 years (bloody handy trying to track down leaks as well due to its colour)
Tried the Standard Redline in my 09 Sporty, and found it on par with the HD oil so just stick with HD for simplicity sakes.
ALWAYS chaneg out the tranny oils at 10,000km (or every 2nd engine oil change)

Thanks BF I'm walking distance from a SC store. might see if they can also get that Redline oil made for Harleys & old air cooled motors. I used that for years raving my twin cam to 7,200rpm in speed traps at drags just about every week, riding there & home, also got to look into the motor, it works. would love it in my Sporty!!

Mick it's a one off oil change in BT gear box mate, I put that in my Twin Cam Gear Box & road it for years & lot of k's lot of drag racing & riding to & from the track. years later sold the bike to a mate for his son. the son had to pull whole bike apart & rebuild himself so he knew his ride ( old school ) that gear box still like new, good oil. one off change!!
with sporty can't use it as they share primary & gear box. but the Redline MT ( manual trans ) works for sporty's just need to change once in a while. Redline engine oil I changed that once a year & I was reving motor to 7,200 averaging about 15,000 to 20,000 a year.

you are right Mick, as I  been riding Harley's 40 years & about 16 years back used my first redline heavy shockproof gear box oil, & it was the first time riding Harleys I noticed an Oil that made the gear box shift like it was stearing honey

true I payed $41 for small bottle of MT-90 , over the counter, but I got friendly personal service.
I don't change primary gear box oil often, I'll be interested to see how the MT-90 feels in my sporty, felt good in Buell but that had a heavy gear oil in it before that was making the clutch plates stick. was that bad I had to start bike up warm it up with clutch pulled in, before putting it in gear. I put the Redline MT-90 in never had to do that, & shifted nice clutch felt nicer too. but my sporty had HD formula + & the gear box set up great, so will be interesting.

The shockproof Heavy in Gear Box only, it is not suitable for the primary, that is why I can't use it in my Sporty, the sporty combine same oil primary & gear box, so I'm going to use Redline MT-90, you could use, what Harley recommend in primary, or you could use ATF Type F, MT-90 or MTL all made by Redline, or could use Valvoline ATF TypeF.
with the Redline Heavy Shockproof in Gear Box you don't need to change it at all, you will notice how much smoother it feels shifting. with the primary oil you still have to change as bits of friction plate dust gets into contaminate oil also oil gets hot goes off.
