Securing an led indicator upgrade properly.

    I have a beautiful 98 fatboy and I have gone the led indicator upgrade. 
    The problem is that the rear indicator shaft the bolt screws onto is too short. 

    I can't get a bolt on the end of it, so I tried silicone to secure it. 

    It was okay, but it's a bit soft and the indicators move around too easily. 

    I would like to know if anyone can recommend something else. 

    Something I can clean off the bike later if I ever upgrade again without too much trouble.
