Low Rider S Test Ride

Had the Slim S in the shop this morning to change the brake fluid, Nick chucked me the keys to the Low Rider S demo, it's not stock, they have put forward control's on it, a bassani two into one and the newish zippers redshift 472 cam, every single one of the softail M8's I've ridden left me a bit underwhelmed performance wise, both 114 and 107 but this bike sings!
Easily the best M8 rider's bike I've ridden to date, I seriously considered trading mine on the spot, if you are in Townsville go and have a ride on this thing, I really liked the Sportglide, still do but the LRS 114 cammed is a weapon.
I love my bike but this is next level refined, it stops, it turns, it goes like a raped ape and is smooth as butter on the road, honestly, shit eating grin material.
Only thing I didn't like was the bars but that's a personal thing because of busted wrists and probably not an issue for most.

Nice one Hilly. I do like the look of them and dig the forwards option. Have to do something about the rear plate.
What else would you do to it?

Just on a personal level, bars with the Hollywood bend, forward's a bit more forward, tidy up the plate area, set of detachable bags, and somehow cruise control, I've got so used having cruise on the slim I don't think I could do without it now, the Sportglide has it, the heritage as well so you could do it with bucks I'd say.
That 472 cam fits the 114 perfect on this platform, that exhaust is actually not obnoxiously loud so it's a good thing in my book, bloody good bike to ride, I felt like it turned better than the Sportglide but maybe that's just my imagination but it flops over with no effort, suspension is pretty decent, don't think I would mess with that.

cruise can be fitted as an option - should be std these days, just the marketeers forcing you into the next model up...

That’s quite the wrap Hilly. Surprised no cruise control. Looks like it’s made to be turned into a single seat set-up too.
Gonna check one out at Canberra HD sometime.

The steering is quicker because the Lowrider S has had the rake reduced from 30 degree's to 28, with the 472 cam is it a torque or power one? I have done a tad over 1100 k's on my one now and love it, a real huge leap in performance and handling over the previous 103 wideglide, one thing that pissed me off a bit was there was no alarm included and only one fob key on the 2020 softails

Wasn't my imagination then, cool, not loosing my marbles, the 472 is a power cam, mid to upper, my kind of cam but honestly it felt fine down low and just got better as the revs cam up, it's a nice bike to ride, you made a good choice mate.

Something new for 2020 that HD didn't talk about in the blurb. My 2019 Sport Glide came with two fobs and an alarm.

How did you know because when you push the fob button sheep come running from far away, in reality the fob is for the immobiliser  (which is one thing the LRS still has), the bikes going in for it's first service next week and I will have an alarm fitted along with removal of the S&S exhaust optional decibel reducer(baffle)
