Immobiliser

    Hello ladies and gents,
Having an intermittent issue with the immobiliser on my 08 Nightster, every so often I’ll go to start it up and the alarm goes off, even if I just put the key in and turn it on without lifting the bike off the stand it goes off (the siren has been disconnected by the previous owner so it’s just party lights... I see why now) I can walk away with the fob, turn it on and off, leave it the fuck alone for 10 minutes but it simply will not stop until... it just does.

I’ve only got one fob and I’ve changed the battery in it with a fresh one and it’s still doing it.

I’m guessing the fob is cactus but i figured I’d ask for an educated opinion from you folk before I order a couple of new ones.

    Cheers,
    Harry

Also check the bike battery.  Could be dirt in the connector on the bike as well.  I think its low down in front of the rear wheel

There is a 9 volt battery in the alarm module, it may be on its way out. Also check the little fingers that make the connection in the fob, as I had to bend mine out a little to get them to contact the battery properly.
Check you main battery terminals  and earth leads.
    Good luck.
