    Good day all.
I have an opportunity to trade in the wife’s 2012 Fatboy Lo (have not got around to selling it yet, but can confirm wifey will not be back riding probably ever) on a 2019 Fatboy and I was wondering what comments you guys might have on the 2019 Fatboy model. I.e. does it suffer from sumping (like other earlier M8’s) and are there other things I should look out for!
It’s a killer deal that might only cost me $5k all up! It’s the dealer demo model with only 968 kms on it and balance of warranty.

    Your thoughts please.

Ps. I was wondering if it was worthwhile advertising my wife’s 2012 Fatboy Lo on this site, getting it to Aus is no sweat and it is a 5HD model (international version), getting the ADR conformance will be a breeze. Headlight, tyres and fluids, was quoted in the region of $2.5k previously.

Not sure about potential mechanical issues but have you ridden it.
They handle like a one legged prostitute.
Not that I’ve had the privilege, but I’ve ridden a new Fatboy.
    No thanks.

And you are basically buying a second hand bike, I bet everyone of those Kay's was with some muppet flogging the crap out of it too.

Recently test rode a 2020 Fatboy 114. Powerful engine but doesn't go around corners. Dealer told me ( who said he was a master tech before selling) that it is only the tourers suffering from the sumping, not the cruisers. Said it was a vacuum issue with a simple fix. Because of the shit handling and the plain jane looks of the new Fatboy ( and the changeover figure didn't suit me) I'll keep my Fatboy.

Point taken. I will be test riding it later this week, I have ridden one before, albeit the 2016/17 model, and it was not too bad, but definitely different to my 2016 Lo. Thanks guys.

I was also looking at the 2019 m8 Fatboy until I seen the cost of replacing the front wheel with something more slim , ride one 1st before you trade up , with the 160 front tyre They have this thing of standing up through corners or not cornering... I'd like to see your thoughts as every Rider is different.
every sales person will make it sound like the deal of a life time.

Good term and a correct one, "standing up through corners". Exactly what the one I test rode did. The handling made me look like a new rider and not someone with 45 years of riding behind me.

Gents dont think its as simple as changing the front to get a better steering bike. That oversise rear will simply create a "pushing" effect on the front creating its own serious of issues. The bike is simply fashion over practicality.

You are so right! Bike looks great, but wants to stand up in every corner. We have loads of roundabouts here and getting around them at any speed above 5 kms/hr was a wrestle. Passing the opportunity on!

Unfortunate news Muzza, always nice to get a new ride but at least you won’t have any regrets.
I’m told they handle better with Breakout wheels but on test riding the Breakout I wasn’t convinced.
    Good decision.
