My missus rides a Street 500. Rides to work everyday. Yesterday she had to go into Richmond for a meeting, not to her normal office. Parked on the footpath where there was some construction going on nearby. Far enough away that she felt like she wasn't obstructing the crew or the driveway. Two of the guys on the site noticed her parking there and paid her no attention.
Just move on! Nothing you can do sadly
I agree. Drink some beer or something and be thankful nothing really bad happened to the bike.
Absolutely.
A lot of people saying nothing you can do ???
Binnsy your overthinking it mate.....same scenario you just made up and they tow the vehicle to a impound yard then ask you for payment to release the vehicle/bike....is that the better outcome? And what do you think you can do in either situation? Like it or not the bike was moved for a reason, you think.......?
Agree mate, it was moved for a reason but be fucked if anyone had the right to do it. If it was creating a traffic hazard it can be moved by the police but towed correctly. it would appear this wasn't the way this bike was moved or it wouldn't be in the mess that its in. If it was towed by the police a tow authority would need to have been authorized and signed. I smell a rat, and I reckon that rat was wearing a hard hat !! Might be jut me but if someone moved my bike without going through the correct channels i wouldn't let up until I found out who that was, and why they think they had the right to do it. You are correct in saying it would have been towed to an impound yard and there would be a fee to pay, but it would have been towed correctly, not disabled by some dick head from a building site.. Lesson would have been an expensive one, how it sits at the moment is the bike cant be ridden and it certainly is not a civil dispute as was described earlier. Tamper/interfere with motor vehicle is an offence contained in the Road Safety Act
There's no 'puff' in the story mate. We don't need footage or anything, the guys openly admitted to moving the bike. Bike is still at the dealership and they still can't figure out what's wrong with it.
I still sadly don't get it, when the bike was moved the alarm would have sounded and then reset once the bike settled in the new spot. Unless their is visible damage, pulled wires etc the alarm has failed. Other than the tech telling you " He said someone had not only moved it but they had done something to try and disable the alarm." how did he come to that conclusion.....
Well I did that but the fact remains that the bike is still in the shop and Harley haven't figured out a fix for it and the missus is still stuck catching the bus to work...
