Boom GTS Radio Issues

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum so a very brief intro.
I'm an Ozzie living in NZ and am on my 5th H-D (3rd Bagger).

Recently completed a 6000km ride around this year's Sturgis rally and brought my 2017 RGS home to NZ. (yes, it's a lot easier to import them into NZ than Oz).

My issues is that I cannot get the Boom GTS Radio to tune into the NZ stations and additionally, cannot get the ROW software package to load up. A week or so ago I completed a North America software update without problems. Thinking that the Radio problem may be software based, I've tried to complete the ROW software update however the RGS doesn't want to read the ISO file...it appears that there may be a deeper firmware compatibility issue.

Getting back to the point - has anyone experience the above and identified a self-service fix...or am I heading to the local dealer to get firmware update?

    Cheers

Hey Tim, welcome. When you say your GTS radio, do you mean the GT 6.5 boom? Either way, I'm probably not much help but have you tried doing a factory reset and then installing software again, is there differences in the country for software updates? mine has only had one (17 SGS) done by the dealer, I haven't bothered with any others. I now the satnav is country specific obviously.
Having a quick check of my owners manual shows on pge 8 that the frequency bands depend on the region.
On your boom, try going to home>setup>global presets  make sure this is enabled, then see if that works.
to set a global preset. select the desired audio source, press and hold the desired preset button to store.
just checked my last P&A catalogue and noticed they list 3 different part #'s for the boom 6.5GT, one for Domestic, one for Europe and one for the rest of the world, no idea what the differences are - maybe the dealer knows if the above doesn't work.
Do you have the Boom manual, have a read if so and see how you go.

Hey DocGreen, thanks for the though-out response and welcome.
Yes, it's the 6.5GT and I'd tried all of the reset options, including an attempted "Rest of the World" software update.

I've spoken to a recently retired H-D Mechanic and he said the Dealer's have the correct source code to re-flash the firmware to the correct region....about a 30min job. I then made email contact my local dealer about the issue and they were happy to help ...and did NOT contradict this approach.

I'm pretty confident that a solution has been identified and I'll get the bike to the dealer in the new year to execute the firmware flash - I'll post up a confirmation once it's occurred.

    Cheers
