Friends. I reached out to Bertrand via his website portal. He was good enough to reply today in an email. I rang him and he was happy for me to put this response in the forum to advise his situation.

"Thank you for your email Steve (Steelo).
    You are correct.
Fournales Australia Pty.Ltd. which I have created in 1981 and run with passion ever since, is indeed limping and I do apologise to the customers and my faithful clients.
The explanation is very simple. Prior to my move to the Sunshine-Coast from Tasmania I was diagnosed with a sickness known as "Myelo-Displasia" a precursor to leukaemia.
Since, I have been diagnosed with full leukaemia and for the last 2 1/2 years not only I have been profoundly debilitated by this incurable and terminal cancer, but just as much by the various treatments (which saved my life so far  by the way) especially heavy chemotherapy.
My ability to look after my business has been, to my great chagrin, considerably reduced as you and the members of your forum can well imagine and have discovered.
It is actually quite a miracle that I am still alive and the doctors looking after me are just as dumfounded as I am.
However, things should soon be improving as my daughter (who is between jobs) has accepted to give me a helpful hand for a while. Also I hope that after all these years, I will find someone to take over and continue to offer the Fournales sales and service in Australia as realistically, I am on the death row right now.
I am still open for business and will be for as long as I can.
I hope this will clarify the situation.
The worse part of all this is that very unfortunately I cannot ride motorcycles any longer and one may wonder if life is worth living without riding ? Bloody crap !!!!!
Best of day to you and may your lid never skid.

    Bertrand CADART.
Founder and Managing Director of Fournales Australia Pty.Ltd. in 1981.

PS: best is to contact me on my mobile phone : 0407511454 as I find a lot easier to talk than to write lately.

In regard to your shock, my dad has told me you have 2 choices.
    1. You can have it repaired by the factory in France. The unit will be as good as new and will be covered by a new 2 year factory warranty. The delay of the turn around from your place to your place will be around 90-100 days. The cost (including freight) to and from France will be around $375.00.
    2. You can purchase a new unit which will cost $650.00 including GST. Plus $30.00 for postage, handling and insurance. Please note that we do not have any in stock right now. We are hoping to receive our new shipment in around 60 days. There will be stock available then.
Once again sorry for all the inconvenience.
    Kind regards,
    Anne-France Cadart

Don't know if this guy can help with Fournales, but I recently purchased a second hand pair of Ohlins and Gregg Allerton of Gregg Allerton Racing does a shock service (strip down clean, inspect sealing surfaces, replace oil, regas) for $220. I have not had any work done by him before but he was recommended to me by my Bike Painter so I am going to give him a try. He is Sydney based (Douglas Park - out past Campbelltown) and he did say to me I could post the shocks to him if I wanted to. I found him on Facebook (under Gregg Allerton Racing) and sent him a message. I am sure if he does do Fournales it will not take 90 - 100 days.

Hey Ralphski, sorry to drop in on your wave mate, but am pulling hair out with my Fornales, trying to get repaired.
Ralphski, $650 for the one shock, is not too bad. Hopefully anne France gets back to me.
Have had reply from simon at  MAW, Simon states will cost 230 pounds to service my one shocker same as yours I think, then they have to send to France Fornales for replacement part, (Extra cost)  taking toolong,  plus postage, extra... . AArggh.
Going to see if can talk to imoo s shocking contact if can't weld mine together. At least won't be sent to the other side of the world.  How is the service with Ohlins? Baloffski

I dropped off my Ohlins to Gregg Allerton Racing today and asked him about Fournales. Unfortunately he is not familiar with Fournales shocks so cannot help with the rebuild - sorry Ralphski.

He did say that there is a guy that does structural repairs to shocks and was going to try and find out his contact details. Hopefully my shocks will be ready next Saturday so I will ask him if he found the guys details. Will keep u update Baloffski.

Hey imoo6170, thankyou for heads up . Appreciate any information about Fournales.
As said I do like them, and this is the first time have actually had to seek work on them after years of use.
The quest to organise a repair is becoming too fucken difficult.
