Removing the ignition from a 99 ultra classic

    Hello,
I need to replace the fork seals on my 99 ultra classic but I’m unsure how to remove the ignition so that I can access the top of the fork tubes.
I have never seen an ignition like this one before, I have tried a google image search as well with no luck. All the videos on YouTube show the standard ignition switch.
As you can see in the pics it’s far from standard and the only thing I can find is a small slot at the bottom closest to the tank.
I’ve tried a very small screwdriver and a needle while turning the key, but can’t feel anything.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Hey JMS, have you tried removing the lock as per the normal method (wheel pointing left, switch at accessories position etc) it doesn't look like you could access the knob/detent which is usually underneath the switch and accessed in the accessory position - if not, give it a go (with the exception of the detent part) with the key in the lock and then in the unlock position if it doesn't come out. Or, does the switch stay there and is electrically disconnected from underneath, that is, will it come up with the inner faring or does it lock the forks?
Sorry but that's all I got

I would be reading the service manual chapter on how to do this instead of trying to wing it.

I got these photos from asking the same question on a Facebook page, the guy that posted them took them this morning and are of his own bike.
The four “riverts” around the lock are actually plugs covering 1/8 Allen key bolts lucky for him his plugs take a t25 torx bit, unlucky for me mine are just a round hole.
