Don't be ridiculous GG. It's only for use when you don't want the CIA finding out what you're thinking. DUH.

Nah  , just get rid of the stupid things altogether. I could never figure out how those stupid looking things cyclists stick on their head got approved. Those things would do nothing in a prang. It only covers top of head above the ears.
Some one got very rich selling a stupid piece of foam to cyclists (maybe they had inside knowlege) I smell corruption.??

I would rather land on my head with a helmet than without one regardless of its on a pushie or a motorbike.

I know lots of young people that stopped riding pushbikes after the helmet law came in, safer or no they just wasn't going to wear them, in all my years from a lad to now I have not personally known anyone that hurt their head on a pushy, lost count of the fuckers that have died in car wrecks though, I can understand road racing and the downhill brigade's need for them but for running around the burbs it's just a pain in the arse.

I don't think much about it, I just wear the stupid things as I'm in a mountain bike club ( to try keeping fit  & pumping a bit more blood through the veins ) here in NSW cost's over $200 if get caught no helmet . we go pretty hard down big hills on dirt tracks in mountains, wear eye protection too.

Although an American study the stats are pretty damming in this report. Fully agree a helmet aint going to help if a semi hits you at 100kph but a simple fall on the footpath can also kill you. I think helmet laws, motorcycle and pushbike should be discrecinary but on a pay per use basis, eg higher insurance policy to cover you if you get hurt.

I still think them things are useless, so alternatively make the bicycle helmet laws the same as motorcycles.

They're surprisingly effective as long as you don't land on your face, a lot of development goes into making them safe, light and cool. They're certainly not much worse (if any at all) than the standard flat black Harley rider open face.

Reckon the cops would not hassle you round here if you wore one of these, providing you were behaving.

What laws are different, you ride a bike or motorbike you have to wear a helmet.
Under current Queensland laws, you must wear an Australian Standard (AS) approved bicycle helmet when you ride a bike. The helmet must be securely fitted and fastened. ... However, if they are a paying passenger on a 3 or 4 wheeled bicycle, they do not have to wear a helmet.
Cyclists caught not wearing a helmet can be fined $126 under Queensland law.Aug 7, 2017
All Queensland motorcycle, quad bike riders and passengers must wear a helmet that complies with:
Australian standards  AS1698 or AS/NZS1698, or
United Nations Economic Commission for Europe standard (UN ECE 22.05).
Unless exempt, the driver and passengers of utility off-road vehicles being operated on a Queensland road or road-related area must also wear a motorcycle helmet which complies with the standards.
    Helmet labels and stickers
Helmets must display either a stitched label on the inside of the helmet or a sticker on the outside of the helmet, indicating compliance with the approved standards.
For a helmet meeting the UN ECE 22.05 standard, the label or sticker may contain any number from 1 upwards.
All Australian States and Territories require bicycle users to wear an approved bicycle helmet while riding on public roads and they enforce these laws locally. Each State and Territory requires the use of bicycle helmets that comply with the Australian standard AS/NZS 2063.Sep 28, 2016

    The standards are completely different.

So your advocating a universal standard? If so is it the bike std or the motorbike std.
